Einstein never knew General Relativity would have such massive practical implementations!
A hundred years later, your phone depends on Einstein's equations.
Nobody develops fundamental physics knowing where it will lead and that's why scientists continue to explore ideas like String Theory.

What was the point of this article then, @timesofindia?
In his recently edited book, 'A Touch of Genius: The Wisdom of India’s Nobel Laureates', Rudrangshu Mukherjee, Chancellor and Professor of History, Ashoka University, brings together essays, stories, poems, lectures, songs, and prayers by nine Indian Nobel laureates.

India needs more scientific institutions like ICTS Bangalore!
After spending a week at ICTS, I realized that great science is not just done by brilliant minds. it requires a great ecosystem.
ICTS is built around conversations. In many ways, its core architecture is conversation itself.
There are hundreds of blackboards across the campus- inside buildings, in common spaces, even amidst nature and almost all of them are filled with ideas, equations, sketches, and spontaneous discussions.
This is how creativity is born.
This is how breakthroughs happen.
This is how great science gets done.
Lab update: @Mr_MusicalBrain received funding from @wellcometrust for his Oxford visit. Part of @OxfordCIN Global Scholar Program, he's built bridges between @AshokaUniv & Oxford over the past year. Wishing Arijit an inspiring visit ahead.
Honored to be awarded the "i4a Access Grant", funded by the @wellcometrust and administered by @GlobalBioImage which will support my research visit to the @OxfordCIN@UniofOxford
I look forward to expanding my knowledge and advancing research in MR Imaging and Spectroscopy.
