Following our meeting in Holborn, Ewan Cameron, Conservative candidate for Holborn and St Pancras, has written to Camden Council seeking urgent answers about residential balustrade and barrier safety.

He has asked:

1. What did Camden’s political and housing leadership do immediately after Joshua died to ensure no other resident—whether in council, housing-association or privately rented accommodation—was living behind a comparable untested or corroded barrier?

2. What formal action has Camden taken with ISHA and other housing providers, including inspections, requests for safety records and a risk-based testing programme?

3. How many homes have been physically checked since 29 January, how many defects have been identified, and how many have been made safe?

These are fair and necessary public-interest questions.

Joshua was 23. He leant against a communal safety railing that was meant to protect him. It failed, and my son lost his life.

We need to know what has changed—and what is in place right now that could prevent another fall tomorrow.
