@physicistdanny @pearson I couldn’t agree more. I see how much textbook companies make off of school districts and I’m disgusted. It’s all for profit. They perpetuate the idea that textbooks are necessary when we as educators know the truth.
@aflynnski These tests are a prime example of all of the work we put in for literally no reward. I love the kids but the EXTRA for AP tests is bullshit. Where is my bonus (I’d even take a thank you) for the additional work to make it possible for these kids to get credit.
Last week was a rough one. I am still completely unregulated but have to teach in the morning. I haven’t really slept in a couple of days. I’m not sure how I’m going to manage this one.
@WeinsteinEdu@jbteacherman You’re shooting too high. I would take a day off where I didn’t have to work a whole extra day to make sub plans that no student is going to do.
Woke up feeling like absolute garbage this morning. However, teaching doesn’t allow to take a day off without so much hassle that we just say “fuck it” and go in anyway.

@aflynnski I’m grateful for the people I work with, work for and the students. Meeting ridiculous state requirements for days and hours despite the mental health needs of students and staff is ridiculous. Hope all is well with you and yours.
