@SkySportsNews People shocked or disappointed at this news either have no clue about football, haven’t watched Liverpool play for at least a year, or support another rival club.
I have witnessed this club go from doubters to believers, and from believers to champions. It took hard work and I always did everything I could to help the club get there. Nothing makes me prouder than that.
Us crumbling to yet another defeat this season was very painful and not what our fans deserve. I want to see Liverpool go back to being the heavy metal attacking team that opponents fear and back to being a team that wins trophies. That is the football I know how to play and that is the identity that needs to be recovered and kept for good. It cannot be negotiable and everyone that joins this club should adapt to it.
Winning some games here and there is not what Liverpool should be about. All teams win games.
Liverpool will always be a club that means a great deal to me and to my family. I want to see it succeed for long after I have moved on.
As I’ve always said, qualifying to next season’s Champions League is the bare minimum and I will do everything I can to make that happen.
It feels to me like Slot has a combination of some former Liverpool managers' worst traits.
Rafa's coldness, Rodgers' lack of self-awareness and Hodgson's nonsense in interviews.
Frankly, he has NONE of Klopp in any way right now.
Thoughts from Villa park (sadly I was there)
-The fans hate the manager with a visceral passion
-We will lose to brentford for sure. The players have checked out. They don’t care and don’t even try. They wave their arms around. They were so mean to mamadarshvilli (he deserves it) and ngumoha. They are basically bullies. Macca. Vvd. Jones. All 3 especially.
-Gakpo is so bad as a striker. All season long we have not had a striker who can hold the ball up.
-Not being a forward pressing team (in sync that is) only means we have no identity. You either press or you park the bus. We are in the middle.
-The manager is a dead man walking. Whole world knows that except for the ppl who have to make that kill switch button decision.
-Gravenberch is not a 6. How did we win the league with him as a 6. Don’t know.
-Goalie. Right back. Macca. 6. Striker. Actually these positions have killed us. In the first part of the season ibou was also part of that hall of shame.
-The way forward: we have several issues. But some of them are an easy fix- effort. Passion. Coordination. Tactics. Running. CULTURE (worryingly that’s really really bad)
That easy fix is a new manager. Any new manager
The injuries: fair enough the front three was weak. But that back four had three of the best four. The midfield three is the one that won the league. So that won't cut as a good enough excuse for why they leaked so many chances tonight.
Arne Slot had credit in the bank at the start of this torrid run (well over half a year ago btw) and rightly so after last season. But that has gone bust now. He has shown absolutely nothing in that period to show he is the man to lead this team forward.
Villa’s first goal. The space, distance and freedom to shoot.
If Mo Salah was on the pitch when this goal was scored the usual suspects (Josh, Phil, Sam, Watch LFC, etc) would’ve blamed him “doesn’t track back” to deflect from the coaching and structure mess.
As a former Red, and having watched too many Liverpool masterclasses at Villa Park ( and played in a couple), that could be the worst Liverpool performance in B6 I've seen. And I'd include the 7-2 in that.
No idea what the team is trying to do and that's a very, very rare thing to say about any Liverpool team.
✍🏻 Liverpool’s starting XI cost £430.2m; the 10 outfield players had all won league titles in their career.
⚽️ But they conceded the first goal for the 21st time and lost their 18th game of the season.
✍🏻 They are soft touches. It can’t continue

@thisisanfield@davidlynchlfc Slot took Klopp’s high fitness base, eased workloads, managed fatigue and protected output. Early returns were superb, perfect almost, we blew the PL and UCL away, but come Mar25 intensity had dropped, fitness levels had declined, it’s been impossible to recover those ever since.
Marginally better than being cunted 4-0 or 5-0, but a defeat is still a defeat, and it's 20 defeats since we battered Spurs for the title. How ANY Liverpool manager can even be considered as safe in their job after that, I just don't know. Accepting mediocrity again.
Liverpool have conceded 70+ goals in a single season (all competitions) for the first time since the 2015-16 campaign, and for only the 18th time in the club's 134-year history. #LFC
It’s May, away to United, and we’re still doing the same things we were in October and November.
Shocking off the ball, terrible, slow and clueless when we get it, zero intensity or urgency in our play and absolutely no fight.
Same again next season with this fella in charge.
The usual suspects would tell you this is an outlier because of the number of injuries to the team but that’s simply not true. This has been Liverpool for the past 12 plus months under this manager
Must be so fun playing against this Liverpool team
105 passes side to side at 1mph
Zero penetration in wide areas
Zero dribbling ability in 1v1s
No desire to play passes through the lines
& I’ve seen this exact game 25 times already this season
"I think it is right that he is given an opportunity to fix this in the summer"
