@danbardell Your complaint is, 'spurs are better at generating income, and spend less on wages than Villa'. How is it possible they are in a financially stronger position!
@toneyq73@premierleague@SkySportsPL@SkySports_Keith Follow spurs’ model. Invest in club infrastructure, sacrifice short term to create long term sustainable revenue streams. It’ll only take around 15/20 years. OR sell your soul to Saudi Arabia and hope you short cut the hard work. OR give big wages to average players, like Villa.
@Nufc_opinions_ ‘Same 6 sides’ - laughing at us because finished 17th twice. Make your mind up. Are we a top 6 team or are we shit? You were literally bought by Saudi Arabia, your concern about the ethics of the PL have to be taken with a pinch of salt, chief.
@bobizgrate@CDBaker86 20 years ago, no club in 17th would have sacrificed 10 years of onfield performance and built a £1bn stadium with concerts, NFL, go kart tracks to add revenue they could then spend in future. You don’t understand basic business economics.
@avfc_stef The league position has fuck all to do with how much you can spend. Our revenue is created from our stadium and sponsorship deals. We create far more revenue than Villa and Newcastle. We also spend less on wages than Villa. We have more breathing room to spend right now.
@chris_armin Where were you for the last 15 years complaining about spurs? We weren’t spending money, we were in the CL and Europa most seasons. We DIDNT spend big. We’ve built a stadium and new revenue streams. This window is the result of decades of slow, patient progress.
@SuperSt90264632@kevin_busby@adamdnathan@apatersonlondon You're saying that like Spurs didn't just do that exact thing. The only problem you have is, you don't want to wait 25 years like we have had to. Buy well, sell, invest in new facilities, Poch, CL final, don't spend too much, slowly slowly.
@kevin_busby@adamdnathan@apatersonlondon Partly, it was voted in to maintain the status quo, definitely. But it's also to prevent a russian billionaire coming and buying the league again, like Chelsea did. At least now, financial discipline is a necessity even if it's not perfect.
@kendallrowanx Firstly - offering the most to the selling club gets you in the door.
We’ve now decided to also offer competitive wages.
London.
The stadium and training facilities.
De Zerbi seems to also be a big draw for players. Ultimately it’s always about money though.
@KingGary1234 Somebody paying you to use your facilities isn't valid? It's nothing like selling an asset you own, to another company you own, just to fiddle the accounts.
