It troubles me to see Christians speculating about Joe Biden’s soul, his sins, or what he has confessed. As a Catholic, we can presume he is receiving pastoral care. Pray for him sincerely, without ego. And before imagining what he needs to confess, perhaps examine your own soul.
A sacrarium is a special sink or basin found in our Catholic churches, most often located in the sacristy, the room where priests prepare for Holy Mass and care for sacred vessels and linens. Its defining feature is a drain that empties directly into the earth rather than into ordinary plumbing or the sewer system. This arrangement allows sacred substances to return to the ground in a manner consistent with the reverence due to materials that have been set apart for divine worship.
The sacrarium exists to provide a dignified means of disposing of water and other liquids that have come into contact with the Holy Eucharist or other sacramental elements. After Mass, the vessels used for Communion are rinsed, and the water from that first cleansing is poured into the sacrarium.
The same practice applies to the water used to rinse purificators and corporals, the cloths that touch the consecrated Host and Precious Blood. In cases where a particle of the Host has become soiled or spoiled beyond the possibility of consumption, it may be dissolved in water and that water directed into the sacrarium. Leftover baptismal water, small quantities of old holy oils, and the water used to clean a spill of the Precious Blood are likewise disposed of in this way. The Precious Blood itself is never poured out; it must be consumed.
This careful practice reflects a long-standing principle in Catholic liturgy that what has been consecrated or blessed should not be treated as ordinary waste. By returning such substances to the soil beneath the church, the sacrarium expresses the belief that sacred materials deserve to rejoin the earth rather than mix with common refuse. The fixture often includes a cover that can be locked or closed to prevent misuse and to mark it clearly as reserved for sacred purposes.
Historically the sacrarium, sometimes called a piscina, appears in church architecture from the early Middle Ages onward. In older churches it might take the form of a stone basin set into a wall near the altar or a more elaborate feature with decorative molding. Over time the preferred location shifted to the sacristy for practical reasons, yet the essential purpose remained unchanged. Modern church guidelines continue to require or strongly recommend such a drain in every sacristy, underscoring its enduring place in the careful stewardship of the sacred.
In essence the sacrarium is both a practical fixture and a quiet theological statement. It ensures that the elements used in the Church’s most solemn rites are handled with respect from the moment of their consecration until the final act of their disposal, completing the cycle of reverence that surrounds the liturgy. Prayers for Joe Biden & his family, as he likely approaches death in the coming months.
(Cancer metastasizing like this is usually when, not if, it will kill you.)
[Christ] is the radiance of eternal glory, the brightness of eternal light and the mirror without blemish. Gaze upon that mirror each day … continually study your face in it, that you may adorn yourself completely. ~ Holy Mother Clare of Assisi (Office of Readings)
This is at a Novus Ordo Mass. You don't need to ask for permission to do this. You don't need to make the priest change his routine. You can just do things, and it's okay. I'll re-post what to do and how to do it below.👇🏻
@run081978@CatholicVote No he is not, plus that's not even your call. I may not agree with everything in his public facing vocation he is a faithful Catholic and his family has more class in their little toe than you do.
@run081978@CatholicVote :palm-forehead: --- Primary source of Biden's "crimes"? There is none.
On the other hand, Trump is a finalized felon and civilly liable for r*pe.

If you hate Catholicism and her beliefs,
remember that the Catholic faith is rooted in Christ, not in human opinion, and truth does not change because it is disliked.. Hatred cannot silence truth.
