@IGyzen #apread18 My book switches from the main character, Jacob, as a 23 year old and him as a 90 year old. It is not the exact same thing as yours, but the idea is the same. Jacob explains his struggles long ago such as the death of his parents and his hard times at the circus.
@jtsokanos20 Romance novels are also my favorite! I did not expect my book, Water for Elephants, to be very romantic considering it is during the Great Delression on a travelling circus, but the most of the second half was a long awaited love story between 2 main characters. #apread18
Now that I am finished with WFE, i can truly say that this has been one of the best books I have ever read! The author managed to keep my attention with a book about a Depression era circus and tackled current issues such as domestic violence and animal abuse. #apread18
I am almost done with Water for Elephants and it is proving to be more action packed and romantic than I thought. The tension between Jacob(main character), his boss and boss’ wife(Jacob’s love interest) is almost at its peak, I can’t wait to see what happens next! #apread18
#apread18 The story switches between the main character as a 20 year old working on the circus to his life now as a 90 year old in a nursing home waiting to see the circus in town. It is interesting to read his flashbacks from the circus 70 years prior and see what has changed.
I am reading Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen and I am surprised by how little information is given about the protagonist’s life in the prologue and first chapter. Now 90, the protagonist mentions events from years ago, but not in detail, making me want to learn more. #apread18
