Miami-Dade Sheriff Rosie details how she saved taxpayers $33 MILLION by forgoing new uniforms, a cold plunge and massage tables and NOT getting logos printed all over everything.

“We are paying the county $54 million a year for IT services. Through closer supervision and careful review of spending, we brought that down to $42 million, a $12 million annual savings without reducing services. And as we work toward managing our own technology independently, we project another $6 to $7 million in annual savings, bringing that cost down to approximately $35 to $36 million.

That's an $18 to $19 million in annual IT savings already achieved or projected. Personnel, eliminating the county's Sargent-at-Arms program will save approximately $4.1 million annually and return those deputies to core law enforcement functions. We have also adjusted patrol schedules to improve coverage and reduce the need for overtime through better scheduling.

Uniforms and vehicles. Keeping our existing brown uniforms, instead of changing to green, avoided approximately $4.8 million in costs. Updating graphics on approximately 1,700 existing white vehicles, instead of repainting them, avoided another $5.7 million.

These two practical decisions alone account for $10.5 million. Our purchasing and operating, buying office supplies directly from the vendor that the county uses, saved us approximately $200,000 annually. Through a state cooperative contract, we are also obtaining fuel incentives and rebates of up to $0.15 per gallon, maintenance discounts of up to 20% from participating providers and discounting on our tire replacements.

Together, the items we have quantified represent approximately $32.8 to $33.8 million in savings and avoided costs, including the changes that we are still processing. Fuel, maintenance, and scheduling efficiencies add further savings beyond that total. And we are only getting started.”

A Tesla owner and dad was arrested at GUNPOINT in his own driveway and charged with a FELONY for “fleeing” a police officer he never saw.

2 years later, he BEAT THE WHOLE THING...

...because his Tesla was recording the entire drive!!! ❤️

Now the police officer who arrested this dad has just RESIGNED... and the police chief is now APOLOGIZING.

His name is Kevin Finley, in Winter Springs, Florida.

He’d just dropped his kids off at school and was driving home when he passed a car sitting in a median and figured it was broken down or about to make a U-turn.

It was an unmarked police car.

An officer went after him. Finley says he never saw a single light and never heard a siren.

The Tesla footage showed the patrol car’s emergency lights were visible for only a BRIEF moment... before curves in the road and buildings blocked that unmarked car from view entirely.

So Finley drove home!

He pulled into his garage and then he heard sirens outside. So he did what an innocent man does. He OPENED his garage door to see what was going on.

...and found guns pointed at his face.

His words: “This is, argumentatively, a simple traffic violation. And now I have a gun in my face and I’m arrested in my driveway and my neighbors are watching.”

He told them over and over that he never saw them, that he wasn’t running from anybody.

The officer can be heard saying:

“I dunno if I’m gonna hit him with the felony side of flee and elude, or I’m going to hit him with all the traffic infractions.”

They went with the felony.

Felony fleeing and eluding + criminal reckless driving.

In Finley’s words: “These are all very serious charges. Fleeing the police is a felony.”

And then this father spent NEARLY TWO YEARS with that hanging over his head. Two years of lawyers. Two years of a felony charge on his record for anyone to see. Two years of wondering if he was going to prison over a traffic stop he never knew was happening.

Then he finally got to play the video.

The judge didn’t even send it to a jury.

He acquitted him on the spot.
