Six years ago today, we launched the first episode of Sacred Symbols.

It didn't only quickly become the internet's most-popular PlayStation podcast; it helped morph @LastStandMedia from an upstart personal project into a vibrant seven-figure company that employs four full-time people and nearly a dozen collaborators. This allowed us, in turn, to spread resources into the fleet of shows you know, from Defining Duke to Punching Up to Summon Sign and beyond, making us the network we are today.

The picture on the left was taken at an Airbnb in California after Chris and I recorded the first podcast in 2018, but before it was published. I was so nervous, and I obsessed over how it might perform. Fast forward six years. My lovely wife took the picture of me on the right a little earlier today -- in my own backyard here in Virginia, this time -- and let's just say everything has come together nicely (and my love of pools clearly remains).

From the absolute bottom of my heart: Thank you for making Sacred Symbols the success story it is, and for changing my life (and the trajectory of Last Stand) forever. It's not lost on me that an NFL stadium's worth of people listen and watch each and every week, and more than 13,000 of you pay a monthly subscription. We couldn't do it without you.

Here's to six more years... and then some?
