Odin’s biggest failure wasn’t hiding Hela. It was raising Thor on what seems like a lie about what Asgard was, then deciding Thor’s worth only after stripping him of his power, his hammer, and his home.

People call the banishment a lesson like that makes it noble. Odin built the warrior prince first. He taught Thor that he was born to rule a golden, honorable kingdom. Then he punished him for the arrogance that upbringing created, and he never told him the kingdom was founded on conquest until he was dy!ng on a cliff and Thor was already bound to the throne.

You can call what came after growth. But Thor becoming worthy isn’t a free choice when Odin made the rules, hid the truth about Asgard, and never let Thor be anything but a king, a soldier, or a man in exile.

And somehow Odin gets remembered as the Allfather who taught humility instead of the conqueror who rewrote the story and made his son earn his name back.

It is Wolverine refusing the lesson Storm is trying to teach. The students are learning to survive a simulation. He turns it into an attack and ends the class on his terms. That is the whole character in thirty seconds. Impatient, effective, and unwilling to play by the school’s rules even when he is standing in as a teacher.

The movie has real problems after that. Cyclops is handled badly and the story loses its nerve. But this scene does something the rest of the first three films rarely managed. It lets two mutants do something they actually do in the comics without apology or explanation. Colossus throws him, Logan cuts the head off. The hologram d!es.
