The indomitable spirit of Sahityarathi Lakshminath Bezbaruah continues to live on through his works and the state anthem “O Mur Apunar Dekh” reminding all of his immense love for the state and its tapestry of diverse cultures and literary works.

He played a crucial role in breathing new life and revitalizing the Assamese literary scene through his various essays, plays, fiction, poetry, and satires with his literature effectively depicting the deep hopes and wishes of the people of Assam, drawing heavily from the social conditions of that time.

His significant contribution to the realm of Assamese literature earned him the tile “Sahityarathi” which was conferred to him by the Assam Sahitya Sabha in 1931.

Another figure that is synonymous with Assam, especially for his valour, courage and love for the motherland is the legendary General Lachit Barphukan.

His bravery and strategic military skills led him to defeat what was once considered the mightiest military force of that time.

With GoA led by HCM Dr. @himantabiswa dangoriya committed to immortalizing the legacies of all legendary figures of Assam, held a meeting today at Janata Bhavan to review preparations for the celebrations of the birth anniversary of the Sahityarathi

Also reviewed preparations for the mega play on the legendary general which will be based on the works of one of Assam’s preeminent playwrights, Prabin Phukan dev and will feature around 250 artists performing together.

On the occasion, also reviewed the overall functioning of the Department of Cultural Affairs.

The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary Cultural Affairs Shri B Kalyan Chakravarthy(IAS) dangoriya, Director @AssamCAD, Meenakshi Das Nath dangoriyani and other officials
