Governor Newsom just signed a new healthcare tax that will increase premiums for Californians by hundreds of dollars. This defies the will of our voters, who passed Prop. 35 to limit such tax increases.
This affront to both affordability and democracy cannot stand.
Madison Keys, in my humble opinion, came across badly about commenting on the 4th of July 250th birthday today. A higher road would have been nice, but it's just another day. Perhaps she meant in England it is, but she still could have said happy birthday America, or similar.
Former Mayor of Coronado California is blowing the whistle on a new housing project
These new San Diego “affordable housing units” are going to cost $900,000 per unit
He shows a luxury sky rise building with luxury amenities was built for half that
This affordable student housing project is projected to cost taxpayers nearly $900,000 per unit to build. Meanwhile, this luxury residential development recently sold for just $400,000 per unit. So what gives?
(Here’s more California Democrat housing projects)
- Government funded affordable housing projects like 101 Astoria at $1.1 million per unit
- This city college project at $900,000 per unit
- Rose Creek Village at $600,000 per unit
All routinely cost far more than luxury residential units.
I'm Richard Bailey, former mayor of Coronado and here's why you should care. It's very popular these days for politicians to campaign on affordable housing. Obviously, no one is against affordable housing, but the affordable housing projects being built by government agencies are often double the per unit cost
— San Diego taxpayers are paying double the amount for lower quality housing that they won't even be eligible to live in”
Women have been misled by medical dogma for decades. It's time for the truth about Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT).
As Dr. Marty Makary explains, the pervasive fear that HRT increases a woman's risk of dying from breast cancer is not supported by clinical trial data. This critical misunderstanding has robbed countless women of profound health benefits.
The short-term relief from perimenopause symptoms—like hot flashes, night sweats, and mood swings—is well-known. But the long-term benefits are truly staggering and largely underappreciated:
✅ Cuts the risk of heart attacks by 25-50% (the #1 killer of women).
✅ Reduces the risk of cognitive decline & Alzheimer's by up to 64%.
✅ Slashes the risk of osteoporosis and debilitating bone fractures in half.
When initiated within 10 years of perimenopause, HRT may be one of the most impactful preventive medications in modern history for improving women's long-term health outcomes on a population level.
Yet, as Dr. Makary points out, it remains underrecognized, underappreciated, and underfunded. This is a pivotal issue in women's health that demands attention.
Every woman deserves to know the real data, beyond the outdated dogma, to make an informed decision with her doctor.
