🔷Alleged to have shouted to a Downing St policeman who refused to let him out of the main gates on his bike:
🔷"Best you learn your f***ing place.
You don't run this f***ing government.
You're f***ing PLEBS”.
🔷He sued The Sun and lost, paying up to £3 million in costs.
🔷The policeman sued Mitchell and won £80,000 in damages.
🔷So Mitchell lost 2 cases
🔷The court heard of previous times when Mitchell told a security guard he was a “little shit”, and telling a protection officer: “That’s a bit above your pay grade Mr Plod.”
🔷Mitchell said it was possible he had used those words, but he couldn't remember.
🔷Mitchell admitted he has a temper, and that he uses foul language, but denied he had used the Plebgate words.
🔷However, the judge ruled "I’m satisfied, at least on the balance of probabilities, that Mr Mitchell did speak the words attributed to him, or so close to them as to amount to the same, the politically toxic word pleb.”
