"Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre has shown he’s ‘all about opportunism and political advantage, not principles.’"

@pfrank9@Franz_Ferdinand While the Orpheum hadn’t sold out when I checked a couple of weeks ago, the venue didn’t look catastrophically empty, either. Not sure what break-even is considered, though
@mikhaell @DaveSmi26637802 While the Orpheum wasn’t sold out when I checked the Ticketmeister site a couple of weeks ago, I wouldn’t have characterized sales as “poor”.
@JamesMoller1 They’re considered a short-term solution while more elaborate long-term solutions (e.g. pedestrian overpasses) are contemplated. And, yes, they’re removable for winter.
@ClassicPopMag "Quiet Life." You can just feel how much influence it had on the whole 80s musical aesthetic, even if it wasn't a hit on its first issue.
@NumanoiDeals Based on the observations of the UK music scene in the early to mid-80s, I'd say that Japan probably quit at just about the right time. Things really changed in the music industry 1983, 1984-ish.

Survey of #bced teachers shows overwhelming support for masks in schools. Also:
- Health/safety measures in schools are still inadequate
- Teacher workload and burnout are increasing
- Teachers’ mental and physical health has worsened

When BC first started reopening back in the spring, I was really impressed with the #bcpoli PHO approach - let sectors come up with the plan, get buy-in, and implement it. But, in #bced the sector - the people who work in schools - are saying the government’s plan is too flawed.
The person ahead of me at the supermarket checkout had about a dozen bottles of #Palmolive dish liquid on the belt. Did they get #coronavirus#handwashing tips from #Madge? https://t.co/Xh4pa1At9Q
So stop compromising their education. Irrespective of the Cabinet Minister involved during a labour dispute, they have no real clue or appreciation for what those teachers actually do. Stop attacking teachers, respect their work and rights. #bced#bcpoli#onpoli#onted#redfored
As #BCTeacherShortage continues to worsen, #bced children with special needs are being sent home when there are no teachers to support them. In addition, there are an unprecedented number of uncertified and unqualified adults currently teaching in schools. New #bcpoli radio ad:
For #bced#bcpoli folks curious about "me too" clauses in public sector bargaining. Here's the actual text. There are specific exemptions that allow employers to negotiate salary improvements, like grid adjustments, in addition to the 2/2/2 mandate. To say otherwise is inaccurate
@keithbaldrey@GlobalBC If by "holding the line" you're referring to the "me too" clause as it relates to wage/salary increases, my understanding is that the @bctf isn't proposing anything that would trigger that clause, either.
