Through adding equipment to the department’s ‘Plastic Lab’ this means:
- reduced waste
- educating student’s about recycling
- create free material
- save money
- raise money through creating new products that can be sold at local markets. See the video below for an example:
We are pleased that our KS3 curriculum is now featuring in a book on Technology Education. We have worked hard as a department to create what we feel is a modern, enjoyable, knowledge filled curriculum. Great to see it in words. Available via Brill Publishing

Today we were proud to place our remembrance statue in reception. The planter and soldier was made by students in Year 9 and our recycled HDPE poppies were made by a range of pupils from different year groups #rememberace

A very busy few days, attending ‘The Big D&T Meet’ in Norwich and then calling by the Design Museum London on the way home. A round trip of 500 miles!! But so worth it, lots of inspiration for September. Thank you for the free tickets @DesignMuseum#designmuseumlondon
A fantastic day at the #thebigdandtmeet at the UEA today. Was brilliant to attend some interesting and inspiring talks, as well as meet some cutting edge companies who are helping to drive D&T forward in the UK
Today, the Captains of Year 7, 8, 9, and 10 visited the @KHSDT1 Department to deliver a thank you gift to @MRCMakes from the @BGSchoolsRU. The gift was in appreciation for crafting trophies for the @BGSchoolsCup and Plate Competition.

It was great to take part in the annual @CardiffMetCSAD Creative Exhibition once again. A fantastic experience for our young people. Thank you again CSAD, a brilliant event.
