What a wonderful morning with Teacher’s Pet! We learned about indigenous celebrations, the Métis, Fur Trade, and petroglyphs/pictographs. The students even made mini teepees that tell a story!
Grade 4 Social Studies debate topic from 2 perspectives: Should the oil sands continue to be developed OR stopped immediately? Amazing insight and critical thinking skills #grade4socialstudies#prescottpsd
Today we learned about the simple machine known as the wheel and axle. It helps us reduce the force of friction quite efficiently! We noticed that it’s important to distribute the weight of the load evenly, to align the wheels, and reduce friction between the parts of a vehicle.
One cut geometry! The students had the “impossible” task of cutting shapes out in one single, straight cut! Our Math brains sure grew today as we remembered that it’s okay to make mistakes on our journey. #prescottpsd70
Our Grade 3 Global Luncheon potluck was a huge success! We loved learning about the traditional foods from our diverse families and enjoying a plate (or two) at “Chateau Prescott”. Thanks to all of our volunteers who helped! #Prescottpsd70#gr3socialstudies
The 3A chicks are cute as ever! We have noticed they are awfully sleepy and like to play around by pecking at each other. Students were surprised how bony and light they were, “which probably helps birds fly” #gr3animallifecycles
We had a fun-filled day of discovery at Jubilee Park today! We investigated the pond life and classified each specimen based on unique characteristics. #Prescottpsd70#gr3animallifecycles
Well, 3A butterflies...it’s been a slice! The Grade 3s certainly had a blast releasing them today! May they live long (ish) and prosper 🖖 #gr3animallifecycles#prescottpsd70
Cross stitching with wool decorates traditional Ukrainian clothing. This one girl’s outfit is 4 separate layers! The men have a really long belt that wrap around the waist several times. #gr3social
Parasitic bugs swell up the plant and other bugs will invade the parasitic bugs before they eat their way out and try to take their space! #wagnernaturalarea

Sea Turtle shells are made out of keratin, the same thing our nails are made of! They can lay up to 10 nests and 100 eggs in each for a season. #motemarinelaboratory
