President Trump, at the start of the war, you spoke about Iranian political prisoners facing the risk of execution. Were their cases raised as part of today’s agreement with the Islamic Republic, or are they now expected to be sacrificed and forgotten?
Please answer!
@POTUS
We are relieved that President Trump and the First Lady, along with the Cabinet members in attendance at the White House Correspondents Dinner, are unharmed.
This attack on the American President and American democracy is appalling.
Masoumeh Ebtekar - also known as "Screaming Mary" - was the spokeswoman for the Islamic terrorists who stormed the U.S. Embassy in Tehran in 1979 and held 52 Americans hostage for 444 days - subjecting them to beatings, starvation, and mock executions.
In 2014, the Obama Administration granted visas to her son and his family to enter the United States. In June 2016, the Obama Administration gave them lawful permanent resident status via the Diversity Immigrant Visa Program.
This week, I terminated their lawful permanent resident status and today, Seyed Eissa Hashemi, Maryam Tahmasebi, and their son are now in the custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement pending their removal from our country.
Her family should never have been allowed to benefit from the extraordinary privilege of living in our country.
America can never become home for anti-American terrorists or their families - and under the Trump Administration, it never will.
Facts:
1- President Trump has not accepted Tehran’s 10-point plan.
2- Regime’s SNSC issued a statement that said US was defeated and had committed to Tehran’s 10-point plan. This is Tehran’s official position. It does not mean they are not lying.
3- The text by Araghchi that President Trump shared accepts military oversight by Tehran over the strait, mandatory coordination with the regime’s armed forces and certain limitations whose nature remain vague.
There are a lot of rumors, guesses, analysis that we will find out their veracity over the next few days.
My own assessment is that
1- The ceasefire is unnecessary and harmful to US national interests
2- The chance for a good deal is pretty slim
3- As before there will be pressure on President to accept a bad deal, I don’t believe he will cave under pressure
4- Regime change is still the best outcome for the US, Israel, and the Iranian people.
Until recently, Hamideh Soleimani Afshar and her daughter were green card holders living lavishly in the United States.
Afshar is the niece of deceased Iranian Major General Qasem Soleimani. She is also an outspoken supporter of the Iranian regime who celebrated attacks on Americans and referred to our country as the "Great Satan."
This week, I terminated both Afshar and her daughter's legal status and they are now in ICE custody, pending removal from the United States.
The Trump Administration will not allow our country to become a home for foreign nationals who support anti-American terrorist regimes.
Iran banned Telegram years ago, with a result similar to Russia. The government hoped for mass adoption of its surveillance messaging apps, but got mass adoption of VPNs instead. Now 50M members of the Digital Resistance in Iran are joined by 50M+ more in Russia.
