5 years ago I went to visit Terrence who had spent 20 Christmases on his own. He really struggled with loneliness but started volunteering with @age_uk in 2014 and it changed his life.

I caught up with Terrence again this week. He is 83 now and still going strong but struggling with his health and dealing with a lot of pain. The good news is, a few weeks ago he got his award for 10 years of service at Age UK🎯

He is spending the 25th December with his friend Andrew this year and wants to wish everyone a great Christmas.

Loneliness remains a huge problem for hundreds and thousands of people in the UK. What I learned from Terrence is that if we all looked out for a neighbour who is on their own we have the ability to make a massive difference ❤️🎄
