@linusgsebastian@adamcrowder Obviously I know very little about what happened behind the scenes. My only point is that, publicly, it’d be good to maintain respect, especially from the position of power you have.
I’ve always respected how you maintain your principles and stood up for the little guy.
@adamcrowder@linusgsebastian Yeah, let’s punch down.
It comes down to respect in the end. Most of the time I see Linus act with respect. Most employee feedback I’ve seen that has been critical has still been respectful. However, sometimes Linus lashes out where he could either just be kinder or quiet.
@adamcrowder@linusgsebastian I didn’t say he didn’t earn it. He did. It’s impressive. He deserves every penny of his success. But it’s cruel to belittle the negative experiences some former employees had.
Hence, getting out of touch with his roots.
Congrats to @LinusTech on the Commuter Backpack launch! Looks great. What an amazing product.
We were in the process of trashing ours, then realized it could be used to farm engagement instead.

@Heavyshark1@krzyzanowskim And while I grant that some of those restrictions are for safety, many also restrict innovation. Let me test those wild, crazy things in the land of the free to show Apple where to open up their ecosystem for App Store apps to allow for new apis for the less nerdy folks.
@Heavyshark1@krzyzanowskim That allows the safety and simplicity most people desire while also allowing nerdy device owners true freedom. It also technically enables app developers to create without many arbitrary restrictions the App Store imposes.
