@EvelynGock I am learning that activities that provide students with the opportunity to learn through play help foster a more holistic learning environment.
Creating spaces that provide the opportunity to learn though play gives the freedom to explore learning in an individualized way.
Day 75: The amount of effort, energy and care some students put into their artwork is amazing. Look at this outstanding composition. So talented! #Artwork@mrhongsclass https://t.co/D1Nd7dVJ12

Day 5: Each day I will post a picture from a day in the life of an educator, without explanation and nominate another to take the challenge. That’s 7 days, 7 pics, 7 nominations. I was nominated by @risha_golby . I nominate @awickichick
Day 20: Student creativity is one of my favourite things. I love the different ways people think. In many years using these shape of the day cards, this is the first time a student has combined them to make new words! Can you guess what subjects were combined here? #creativity
Day 19: One of my favourite things is to team teach alongside a master teacher. Today Mr. Hong and I teamed up and presented a reading strategies lesson. We made our thinking visible while reading a poem.
Day 18: Students learned the difference between qualitative and quantitative observations. Using the big inquiry question students determined what type of data they needed to collect as they carefully observe their ecosystems.
Day 18: Students learned about the components of ecosystems. Using this knowledge they explored ecosystems in their community observing and collecting components. They combined both abiotic and biotic elements to create a suitable habitat for their producers and consumers.
Day 17: Science inquiry starts off with a question. To gain a deep understanding of a big question students will need to research and investigate many sub-questions. Throughout the next few weeks, Div. 2 will build ecosystems and study them. #scienceinquiry#vsblearns
Day 15: Happy Thanksgiving! Take some to be to be grateful for all you have. I am so grateful to be a part of my wonderful family both at home, at school and around the world:) Be kind, take care and stay safe! #vsblearns#thanksgiving#begrateful#happythanksgivng
Day 14: We are started French by introducing some basic phrases. Students were given learning intentions and then co-created success criteria for classroom posters. Students will practice using these phrases throughout the year to ask questions and communicate.#vsblearns
