The @fordnation education strategy is clear, refuse early bargaining & try to centralize negotiations at the Labour Relations Board. @PaulCalandra will use “back to work” legislation & potentially the Not Withstanding Clause to bully education workers, students & their families!
I firmly believe that unless there is a change in the Education Minister, labour instability is inevitable this fall. Education disruptions for students and families should be avoided through meaningful negotiations but @fordnation appears to prefer rhetoric, misinformation and confrontation.

@TinaYazdani OSSTF says they offered to begin bargaining the items that are NOT in dispute, while waiting for the ORLB ruling, but the government wouldn’t agree to do that. For someone confident that 90 days is enough to get a deal, @PaulCalandra sure is wasting a lot of those days.
NEW: Some Ontario education contract talks have stalled before they’ve even begun.
The first fight isn’t over wages or class sizes: it’s over the bargaining rules themselves.
OSSTF and OSBCU say the Ford government is trying to move more decisions from local bargaining tables to Queen’s Park. The dispute could delay talks for weeks or even months.
BREAKING: Sault MPP Chris Scott was caught having a romantic relationship with a staff member just days before he allegedly assaulted his wife with a high chair, @SooToday reports.

NEW: Ontario Premier Doug Ford billed taxpayers for a flight to Orlando last summer to attend the conference of a private-sector union that has repeatedly endorsed the Progressive Conservative Party and received millions in government funding. #onpoli

NEW: A second internal email reveals the PC party gave its MPPs permission to bill taxpayers for hotel rooms as early as 2022.
MPPs were told to keep it in “the strictest of confidences.”

Donations to David Piccini’s riding association nearly doubled after he was put in charge of spending the Skills Development Fund. The RA spent $40,000 in “meetings” that included sushi-rolling classes and expenses related to a Florida golf course https://t.co/nOh2x5IToL #onpoli
NEW: As Ontario barrels through what is projected to be its worst wildfire season on record, the union representing wildland firefighters says the province is 34 crews short of its approved wildfire crew complement.
The Ford government disputes the claim, saying there is no crew target to meet.

Another Ford Minister on the gravy train:
In one year, Piccini expensed $50,000 for restaurants, hotels and a limo using donor and taxpayer dollars from his Riding Association.
Piccini is Ford's Minister of Labour who handed out $800 million taxpayer dollars to Conservative friends and donors—including $10 million to Ford's friend who owns a strip club for "staff training" in the Skills Development Fund scandal.

@ColinDMello Stan Cho expenses $6200 in December 2025 when the house only sat for 8 days, and none of those appeared to be “night sittings”. $775 a night! That’s a fun party with the taxpayers’ money!
Doug Ford’s Minister of Emergency Preparedness and Response, Jill Dunlop, yanked out of interview by her staffer ON AIR when questions got tough. Never in my over 30 years as a journalist did I see this happen. The culture in this PC government couldn’t be more clear. They do not know who they work for. A disgrace. ... https://t.co/MBQWHsbzp3…
One of Doug Fords Toronto area MPPs who spent almost $30,000 on hotels ALSO spent taxpayer money on ads in his father's newspaper, a direct transfer of taxpayer funds to his own family. #ontario#onpoli#dougford#brampton#frankdomenic🍁
It’s way harder for me to expense a $100 printer from my contractually negotiated expense account than for a Conservative MPP to expense $20000 in steaks, champagne, & hotels located down the street from their homes.
Doug Ford is the head of the snake who built this culture.

BREAKING:
Doug Ford's Gravy Plane - which he sold to Chartright - was just chartered for a flight to the UK... to the exact same airport where Vic Fedeli is attending an airshow.
That's right - it appears that the Ford government is still using the $29M gravy plane!!!
