If this trip to GenCon has taught me anything, it is that I want to do more in the ttrpg space, especially to add more PoC representation.
It does feel weird ending up in rooms with folks that make far more legitimate contributions.
After all, I'm simply a programmer.
Also going to GenCon for the first time before heading out to Pennsic afterwards. Wonder if I can work up the courage to join some commander games while there.
Adds two summer tasks:
- rearrange desktop space to facilitate SpellTable play
- work up the willpower to find/visit a local game store to play commander
There is a weird "maybe you aren't entirely broken" comfort that comes with still feeling excitement about your favorite game preparing to announce an update (even if you don't play it as often as you used to).
Do I have what it takes to finally get past the character creation section of BG3? Argh, and I still need to catch up on the current GW2 story. Where has my motivation gone?
TTRPG Campaign/Setting Concept: A parallel to the distribution and divergence of the mass of the Big K (the International Prototype of the Kilogram) and its sibling prototypes, but acting as magical catalysts for various kingdoms/civilizations.
2024 - The year I learn to DM/GM? Honestly the only thing holding me back is not knowing what I want to run and what experience I hope to evoke for the table.
(I have DM'd twice prior, but it has been quite some time.)
Also, as I've been out of the loop, what is the vibe of PoC representation in the ttrpg and larp space these days? Any neat projects I should be keeping an eye on?
