It's strange being a former military officer & coming across a general that you knew back in the day when you were 2nd Lieutenants together. (And then you remember that he was a nitwit who couldn't pour pee out of a boot if you wrote the directions on the heel)
For the cost of a $2 billion B-2 Spirit Bomber, the Defense Department could purchase a good, second-hand Wifi system for our use here in the Pentagon.
I liked "Everything, All Together, Over Here, Over Where? Over There!" quite a bit. (And I think Michelle Yeoh's Oscar is well-deserved) But I still say #TopGunMaverick was seriously the Best Picture of the year.
BREAKING: The Defense Department is requesting a $842 billion budget for FY 2024 but isn't investing any of it in an adequate wifi system for Pentagon reporters.
"Top Gun:Maverick" wasn't going to win one of the major Oscars because it's a movie that has good things to say about the US and the military.
But, Tom Cruise deserves an Oscar for making the movie that saved Hollywood.

#BREAKING: Michelle Yeoh wins the Oscar for best actress making history as the first person who identifies as Asian to win the award.

So #JaneFonda goes on #TheView and (apparently) jokes that pro-life politicians should be murdered for their views.
And people say #TuckerCarlson's show fans the flames of violence.
(#JaneFonda earlier in her career with some loyal fans.)
I grew up as a Navy brat in the "Hollow Military" 1970s following the end of the Vietnam War. But the Pentagon brass back then publicly insisted that everything was A-OK, i.e., "Don't worry about broken equipment and recruiting problems. It's all good."
@senatorshoshana Francis Ford Coppola put Brando in shadows in Apocalypse Now because he was so fat when he arrived on the set in the Philippines. Not exactly the image of a renegade Green Beret colonel leading an insurgent army deep in the jungle.
The President's 'proposed' fy 2024 budget would give US military and DoD civilians a 5.2 % pay bump. Sounds good, right?
However, the US inflation rate is 6.4%
This budget will never become law.
