“I’ll pop ya. I’ll give you a knuckle sandwich. I know how to do it. I can make sandwiches. And guess what. Here’s the deal.”

Of those opining about the health concerns of #Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa, the most realistic portrayal of a player’s mindset came from former #Patriots LB @TedyBruschi, who had a stroke at 31, had a device put into his heart and returned to play. It’s worth your time. 🎥: @espn
A key point missing in a lot of post debate analysis is that Trump’s claim about immigrants eating pets almost perfectly syncs up to the piano in the Peanuts theme song.
Interesting graphic from @GeoComply:
Arizona, in its first weekend with legal sports betting, was state with fourth-highest volume (!) of transactions out of 26 legal states.
New Jersey No. 1, Pennsylvania No. 2
I once had an #NFL team exec many years ago tell me a highly rated player was off their board after being diagnosed with clinical depression. I hope times are changing. And I applaud the immense courage of players sharing their mental health stories. They deserve our admiration.
One way in which COVID media coverage is skewed is there's tons of attention to wherever cases are rising but little to where they're declining. e.g. Cases are *plunging* in NYC right now but there's almost no stories about that after weeks of scary news about variants, etc.
Buck O’Neil, who is a one of the most important figures in baseball history shares a tremendous story about #JackieRobinson - the ending still gives me goosebumps. I don’t think til this day we truly know how important of a person #Jackie42 was. #MustWatch@nlbmprez
Is the virus dangerous enough that we should vaccinate people with a vaccine that might possibly (but probably not) have a 1-in-7 million chance of a deadly blood clot?
If the virus is not that dangerous, how can we justify continued closures of schools, main streets, etc?
6 cases out of 7 million people. What a disaster. This is going to get people killed. And it's going to create more vaccine hesitancy. These people don't understand cost-benefit analysis. They keep making mistakes by orders of magnitude.
Why not lead with the more compelling data from these studies?
80% COVID cases in the study were among those unvaccinated (161 out of 205 positive cases)
Unvaccinated participants were 40x more likely to get COVID than those who were at least partially vaccinated (16% vs. 0.4%)
Under real world conditions and at full vaccination, the Pfizer and Moderna Covid-19 vaccines are 90% effective at preventing infections, including infections that have no symptoms, according to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention https://t.co/4rULBhmRWg
Brynn feared she’d be the only girl at basketball camp. She was.
Despite never playing competitively, she held her own and made two of her team’s five baskets to win the shooting competition. Who’s cutting onions?! #prouddad
Could be due to the views of those in political power and/or mismanagement. Not sure it’s fair to generalize to hesitancy among conservatives. #getvaccinated
Lowest states in share of vaccine doses used. A lot of red states on this list suggesting that vaccine hesitancy among conservatives is an issue.
