🗣️| Marquinhos on what he said to Gabriel after the UCL final: “I told him to stay strong, to hold his head high because he'd had an incredible season and an incredible match. I told him that, in my opinion, he was the best centre-back in the world this season. He simply didn't deserve to carry that burden because, of course, we all want to score penalties.
“I told him that nothing about that moment would take away from the wonderful season he'd had and that we were going to need him very much.
“Those were my words to him, so that he could get over that moment as quickly as possible because we were going to need him very soon here.” [@ESPNFC] #afc
Nobody wanted Arsenal to win the Premier League because they all assumed our fans would be utterly insufferable about it. Instead, it’s everyone else who’s turned out to be completely unbearable, endlessly crying, downplaying their success, and twisting it all just to push their own agendas.
The same people who spent years calling them bottlers and frauds are now acting like the title was handed to them on a plate. Every achievement gets met with “but they spent money” or “it doesn’t count because City were in transition” or some other desperate cope. The salt levels are off the charts, and it’s honestly more entertaining than the actual football at this point. Arsenal finally win it and the rest of the league turns into a bunch of conspiracy theorists who can’t cope with reality.
The Premier League title race would have entered the final match round with Manchester City two points clear of Arsenal, according to The Athletic’s analysis of key match decisions made by referees and their video assistants.
■ Arsenal, Chelsea and Sunderland benefitted the most from errors
■ Bournemouth earned four fewer points than they should have
■ Fulham should have qualified for the Europa League
■ An extra 17 red cards and 36 penalties should have been awarded
@Refsplaining analyses every key match decision to evaluate how on-field and VAR refereeing decisions shaped the Premier League in 2025-26.
