@yashoazad Talk about the Divine Right(s) of IAS officers. Would love to know action, if any, taken against this officer, with such a high level of "commitment " to service to the people and to themselves. Of course their
Right of Entitlement of the IAS is inalienable.
The grim reality of the 8th Pay Commission @8thpaycommision constituted in November, 2025, which is asking all services to send in their suggestion by filling a questionnaire - is that the very composition of the Commission raises a fundamental question of institutional propriety. @narendramodi With Justice Ranjana Prakash Desai as Chairperson and only a single part-time member, Pulak Ghosh, the entire operational spine of the Commission effectively rests with the Member-Secretary, Pankaj Jain, a serving IAS officer. This is precisely where the problem lies. @DrJitendraSingh The IAS is not a neutral administrative service in this context—it is a principal beneficiary of the very pay structures under review. Yet, the Member-Secretary, drawn from this cadre, will control data flows, inter-ministerial consultations, and the drafting of recommendations, relying largely on inputs from fellow babus across ministries. This creates a closed loop of bureaucratic self-referencing, where those who stand to gain are structurally positioned to shape both the evidence and the outcome. It is not a question of individual integrity, but of institutional design: a body meant to independently evaluate compensation across services is, in effect, being operationally driven by one of the largest and most influential stakeholders. Such an arrangement undermines credibility, invites perceptions of bias, and falls short of the basic governance principle that no system should allow a class to meaningfully determine its own financial rewards.
All civil services should send a memorandum to the President, PM, Chairman Pay Commission against insertion of a member secretary from a service which stands max to gain. Then the matter should be taken to court because this is clear conflict of interest and against all cannons of natural justice. @IPS_Association@CentralIfs@indiandiplomats@IISAssociation_@IndiaCAG@SpokespersonMoD@adgpi@HQ_IDS_India@ShekharGupta@virsanghvi@rajkamaljha@sardesairajdeep@mkvenu1@vijaita@ManishTewari@ShivAroor
@yashoazad We seem not to have learnt lessons from the last Commonwealth Games in India when, in response to unhygienic conditions in the Village, top organizers expressed surprise that the level of hygiene of international players was different from ours. Brought the country to shame.
@yashoazad Two international players withdrew from the Badminton tournament because of air pollution, bird poop and monkey presence. None of the charges deniable and nobody directly concerned bothered to protest the withdrawal. And we hope to host the Commonwealth Games and the Olympics!!!
@yashoazad People who have watched this podcast and more such to follow should give wide exposure amongst their circle, as the content is informed, educative and way beyond the hackneyed prattle of TV anchors.
@yashoazad What can be more educative than two experts, with decades of domain knowledge, exchanging thoughts on issues of burning importance.
Yasho Azad, who is unquestionably an expert in the Security field should now be heard expounding on related areas.

#PahalgamTerroristAttack - Strategic lessons and options. Listen to me interviewing Lt Gen PJS Pannu, who commanded the Uri Brigade and served both on the LOC and the LAC. The General then questions me too on intelligence and security lapses at Pahalgam. Send in your comments
@yashoazad Is indeed a room with a fantastic view --- of the monument, of lovely old trees and grassy expanses. And I have seen butterflies wafting on the spring breeze, something I used to see in Lutyen's Delhi from my childhood.
@yashoazad Senior Jaitley, now a permanent resident in the heavens above along with the pantheon of political gods continues to beam his influence to "appropriately favour his dear ones. Who else but his Vansh?
Thank you for reading all the way through! If you enjoyed the thread, feel free to share the first post and follow me for more content like this. @wolfofx ♥️

@KirtiAzaad Shocking news about Poonam's passing. May the Almighty give you and the family the courage to cope with this huge loss. May the Almighty also grant sadgati to Poonam.
