Happened to be at Sumanahalli crematorium, Bangaluru today. As many as 29 wonderful dogs and a monkey,all well-fed and looked after by the staff. All vaccinated and sterilized,a staffer said. All very friendly and look happy Souls😘. Cute female monkey Ramakka was abondoned by somebody. Now is so attached to the dogs and comes across as a beautiful advertisement for co-existence..😘❤️🙏

Well ! Look closely, there are several baby elephants in the herd. Wild elephants do not go looking for conflict with people ! They are highly protective of their young and may instinctively react when they feel threatened, especially when vehicles come too close or crowd their space. We are visitors in their habitat, and it is our responsibility to respect their space and maintain a safe distance

There are so many stories around Gavaskar, Viv and the batters in the 1970s and early 80s who did not use helmets and had wholly inadequate body protection to protect them from express bowlers. It was undoubtedly scary and took nerves of steel.
Now think of rushing towards such a delivery at full speed, trying to put off the hitter or stop the ball.
That's what makes the likes of penalty rushers like Salima Tete and Amit Rohidas legends, they are the first line of attack, running full tilt at the penalty corner specialist who is trying to hit or flick a ball at terrifying speed. The sheer raw courage is breathtaking, it requires something special to get oneself up for it match after match, especially when you have been hit more than once, as both have.
I cannot get over how they do it!

A few minutes of waiting gave an entire herd a safe passage.

When a herd of elephants was spotted crossing the railway tracks near Hawaipur in Assam’s Hojai district, the Rajdhani Express was brought to a halt.

Thanks to the alertness of Assam’s forest officials, the loco pilot and the Lumding Railway Control Room, the elephants were allowed to cross safely.

Once the herd had passed, the train resumed its journey.

For passengers, it meant a few extra minutes on the tracks.

For the elephants, it meant reaching the other side safely.

Nearly a decade ago, Florida turned to the remarkable traditional tracking skills of two Irula snake catchers from Tamil Nadu Masi Sadaiyan and Vadivel Gopal. Brought to Florida in 2017, they helped locate and capture Burmese pythons while sharing their extraordinary skill with local teams. Both were later awarded the Padma Shri in 2023.

Now the Burmese python crisis has deepened. Florida is deploying solar-powered robotic rabbits that look, move and even smell like real marsh rabbits to lure these notoriously elusive snakes out of hiding so they can be detected and removed.
