For thousands of passengers from Marathwada, the 17629/17630 Nanded-Pune and 01487/01488 Harangul-Pune Daily Express trains are vital lifelines for work, education & healthcare.

From 26 Jan 2026, the Railways have proposed terminating these services at Hadapsar instead of Pune Junction. The train arrives at 4:15 AM at Hadapsar, when no public transport is available, causing severe hardship, especially to students and workers.

Requesting Hon. Ashwini Vaishnaw ji to kindly look into the matter and restore Pune Junction or Khadki as the terminal, in the interest of commuter convenience.

When our team reviewed the official MPLADS portal, we found that across both tenures the website shows zero works completed and no photos were uploaded. For the 18th Lok Sabha, 6 works were recommended against an allocation of ₹9.80 crore, of which ₹2.07 crore has been utilised.

Similarly, during the 17th Lok Sabha (2019–2024), 10 works were recommended, with ₹9.81 crore allocated and ₹6.58 crore utilised.

According to the MPLADS Guidelines, the District Authority and the Implementing Agency are responsible for timely updating the work details and images on the MPLADS portal.

When we raised the issue, you stated that the works had been completed but the MPLADS portal was not being updated in a timely manner. If this problem existed during your five-year tenure from 2019 to 2024 and continues even today, and if it had already been raised earlier by others, why was it not taken up with the concerned department at that time?

Why was it addressed only after we highlighted the issue? If you had raised this issue earlier, why do you not share the related communication? And why do you not show us the images of the completed works?

As per Article 19(1)(a) of the Indian Constitution, this is our constitutional right to question an elected public representative and seek explanations on the use of public funds, and you cannot threaten us with legal action just for asking such questions and presenting data that is already available in the public domain on the MPLADS website.

The MPLADS portal is maintained using taxpayer money, and all expenditures under the scheme are funded by citizens. Public servants are therefore duty-bound to ensure accurate records, timely updates, and full disclosure for public scrutiny.

The same portal reflects properly updated data for numerous MPs across political parties, demonstrating that the system functions when due diligence is exercised. The inconsistency in data accuracy demands explanation.

Accountability in public office cannot be selective. Transparency cannot be optional.

If raising questions is treated as an offence, then the very purpose of democratic oversight is defeated. Citizens will continue to ask questions, demand evidence, and insist on accountability because public funds belong to the public, and scrutiny is a democratic obligation, not a crime.
