Train Your Children to be Faithful in Attending Church by J.C. Ryle
Train them to be faithful and regular in attending church and the Lord’s Supper.
Tell them of the duty and privilege of going to Church, and joining in the prayers of the congregation.
Tell them that wherever the Lord's people are gathered together, there the Lord Jesus is present in a special way, and that those who are absent must expect, like the Apostle Thomas, to miss out on a blessing. Tell them of the importance of hearing the Word of God preached, and that it is God's ordained way of converting, sanctifying, and building up the souls of men. Tell them how the Apostle Paul commands us not to "give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but to encourage one another—and all the more as we see the Day approaching." [Hebrews 10:25]
It is a sad sight in a church when nobody comes to the Lord's Table but the older people, and the young men and the young women all turn away. But it is a sadder sight still when no children are to be seen in a church, except those who come to the Sunday School, and are often obliged to attend. Let none of this guilt lie at your doors. There are many boys and girls in every city, besides those who come to Sunday School, and you who are their parents and friends should see to it that they come with you to church.
Do not allow them to grow up with a habit of making vain excuses for not coming. Make them clearly understand, that so long as they are under your roof, it is the rule of your house for every one in good health to honor the Lord on the Lord's day, and that you believe that the healthy person who refuses to go to church on the Lord’s Day brings great harm to his soul.
Also see to it, if it can be arranged, that your children go with you to church, and sit near you when they are there. To go to church is one thing, but to behave well at church is quite another. And believe me, there is no guarantee for good behavior like that of having them under your own watchful eye.
The minds of young people are easily distracted, and their attention lost, and every possible means should be used to counteract this. I do not like to see them coming to church by themselves—they often get into bad company, and so learn more evil on the Lord's day than in all the rest of the week. Neither do I like to see what I call "a young people's corner" in a church. They often catch habits of inattention and irreverence there, which it takes years to unlearn, if they are ever unlearned at all. What I like to see is a whole family sitting together, old and young, side by side—men, women, and children, serving God as a family.
Parents, comfort your minds with these examples. Do not be discouraged because your children do not see the full value of church and the Lord’s Supper now. Just train them to have a habit of regular attendance. Set it before their minds as a high, holy, and solemn duty, and believe me, the day will very likely come when they will bless you for your efforts.
As disciples of Jesus, we do not face an uncertain future. Granted, we do not know what will happen to us tomorrow or next week or over the next few years. Nor do we know when or how our lives will end. We’re not prophets or soothsayers.
But our future is far from uncertain. We can open up the Bible, any time we choose, and read about the last chapter of world history. It’s right there in Revelation, in black-and-white.
And the message? Jesus wins! And in Jesus, we win. The resurrection is coming. All tears will be wiped away. All cancer will die. All abuse will cease. All hatred will end.
That is not a wish or a good guess or a probable eschatological forecast. It’s a divine fact, grounded in the resurrection of our Lord Jesus from the grave. His ultimate victory at the end of time—which is also our victory—is as solid and certain as is the glory of his resurrected flesh.
Decentralize money.
No digital dollar.
A digital U.S. currency would be one of the most dangerous developments in history. When government can simply flip a switch to block all your transactions, it controls your entire life. We need a wall of separation between money and state.
Ponder these words:
It is He who reduces rulers to nothing; who makes the judges of the earth empty. (Is. 40:23).
I noted in the sermon at Apologia last night that the term "empty" here is tohu. You've seen the term before: in Genesis 1:2, "the earth was tohu w'bohu," formless and void.
Emptiness, futility, nothingness.
God is not constrained by the powerful of the earth. He reduces them to nothingness, in His time, in His way, for His purposes.
Spurgeon: A golden idol is just as obnoxious to God as a wooden one; and so the dearest and best thing on earth, if it be allowed to come between us and God, as an idol, it becomes an abomination in the sight of the Most High. O brother, when you cannot trust the providence of God, but feel as if you must have something of visible substance to lean upon, you idolize your savings, or the money you covet. When you cannot take the bare promise, and dare not risk everything for God, but want something over and above the word of God to rest in, you idolize your own selfishness. When you must have marks and signs and evidences of the things which God has plainly declared, and will not believe God unless you have corroborative proof, you are playing the idolater’s part. Yet human nature continually craves for more than God All sufficient, because it is so carnal that it will not trust the Invisible One. It is, therefore, a supreme work of grace when God brings any man to say, “What have I to do any more with idols?”

Just to be clear, neither WGA nor SAG/AFTRA have called for people to stop watching new programs during the strike, if anything they suggest that it shows support for the craftspeople making them and that folks want more, so make a deal.
John Kerry's private jet emitted more carbon in a single flight than your car in your entire lifetime.
Here he denies under oath that he ever owned a private jet. Gets busted, and then said he didn't own the plane, his wife did 🤡

@VF_Dean this my friend/pastor is what angers me a lot. And not just "world leaders". The hypocrisy comes from other U.S. "leaders" (current and past) as well as celebrities/influencers. 😡
Rules for thee and not for me, in other words.
