First up is Julius James, assistant coach for the U-13/U-14 academy teams. A native of Trinidad and Tobago, James has been a staple with the club since 2019, and is the first and only Black coach to win the Inter Miami Freedom Cup when he coached the U-13 Discovery team in 2023.

Last, but certainly least, you know we had to show love to our interns. Big shoutout to Briana Thompson who just recently started a new position as an Immersion Student and athletic trainer with Inter Miami! Wishing you all the best sis!

We now want to big up the trainers. Kiara Giles is our next spotlight. Previously an athletic trainer with Vanderbilt University Football, she joined the club in 2022 and is currently the first and only full-time Black woman athletic trainer with Inter Miami’s academy. Big up!

Next up is Tyrone Mears! Mears is a former professional in the English PL and MLS. Mears was named assistant coach of the U-17 IMCF academy team in March 2023. In August ‘24, Mears will serve as the first head coach of USL Super League Fort Lauderdale. 🫡

Next we have Chris Nurse, an OG in South Florida’s footy streets. In 2021, Nurse made history by becoming the first and only Black coach to win a MLS Next championship with Weston FC. In 2022, he became an assistant coach with the U-16 academy team. 🤝🏾
