Standard AfD logic:
1) Endorse Trump
2) Watch him start an endless war in Iran that sends energy prices skyrocketing
3) Film a video about high gas prices. Blame Merz and Zelensky. Try to make people forget that you endorsed Trump
Huge hypocrites
THE FAR RIGHT GRIFT.
Far-right grifters don’t invent fear from nothing. They find a real problem, blow it up until it feels like the end of civilisation, point at a convenient enemy and tell you that enemy is responsible for everything going wrong in your life.
It is one of the oldest propaganda tricks going. Fascists used it. Communists used it. Weaponise fear, simplify everything, give people someone to hate, then present yourself as the only person brave enough to fight back.
Your wages are shit? Blame them.
You can’t afford a house? Them again.
Your town has changed, you feel ignored, angry, humiliated, left behind? Perfect. I’ve got a villain for every grievance and a simple explanation for every complicated problem.
And, by sheer coincidence, I’m also the only one brave enough to save you.
There’s just one tiny catch.
Saving civilisation is apparently very expensive.
So send money.
Then send some more.
And few people have turned that formula into a business quite as successfully as Tommy Robinson.
Channel 4’s Dispatches investigation into Tommy Robinson paints a remarkably consistent picture: raise money using victims, political causes and claims of persecution, keep the finances opaque, and then give contradictory explanations about where the money went.
1️⃣ Proven fraud history
Robinson already has a fraud conviction. In 2014 he was sentenced to 18 months after pleading guilty to mortgage fraud.
2️⃣ The “debanked” story appears false
Robinson repeatedly told supporters:
“I don’t have a bank account in the UK.”
“I’m not allowed a bank account.”
“I’ve been debanked by every single bank possible.”
Channel 4 obtained details of a Metro Bank account in his real name and successfully transferred £1 into it.
This matters because Robinson had previously justified carrying £13,000 in cash out of Britain by claiming he could not bank in the UK.
He later claimed the cash belonged to a Portuguese company he worked for. Channel 4 found that company was not registered until four months AFTER he was stopped with the money.
3️⃣ Peter Lynch fundraiser
After Peter Lynch died in prison, Robinson publicly promised:
“We will pay for his funeral, we will pay for everything.”
His organisation collected money for Lynch’s family.
They received nothing.
Robinson says the family refused association with him. But instead of refunding donors, he says their share was added to money supporting his own children.
There is also a basic accounting problem: Urban Scoop said approximately £4,000 was raised. Robinson previously said £8,000.
4️⃣ Andrew Ross fundraiser
Robinson told supporters half of another collection would pay for a memorial headstone for Andrew Ross.
He personally told Ross’s daughter he would pay for a “spectacular, beautiful headstone”.
She says she never received a penny and did not even know he had publicly raised money using her father’s death until two years later.
Robinson says £5,580-£6,000 instead went to Ross’s partner and stepdaughter.
Again, money was raised for one publicly stated purpose and allegedly redirected elsewhere.
5️⃣ Grooming survivor “Kate”
This is probably the most disgusting part.
Kate survived the Telford grooming gangs.
She says Robinson tracked down her secret address, despite her deliberately hiding her location because she feared reprisals.
During a suicidal crisis, Robinson phoned her and recorded the call without telling her.
He later paid her £500 to appear in his documentary and promised her identity would be concealed.
She specifically asked him not to use her real name.
She also says she explicitly refused permission for him to use the suicidal phone call.
He used both anyway.
The film was publicly screened in Telford, where she had been abused.
Channel 4 says it has evidence that three weeks before release she told Robinson she did not want her interview used at all.
6️⃣ Then he allegedly fundraised using Kate’s story
Robinson later promoted a cryptocurrency fundraiser and said five grooming survivors featured in his films would “financially benefit”.
He specifically referred to Kate’s story.
Kate told Channel 4:
She had never heard about the fundraiser.
Nobody contacted her.
She received nothing.
“He’s using me basically... I’m literally struggling while other people profit from my pain and suffering.”
Former Director of Public Prosecutions Sir Max Hill KC reviewed the evidence and said the circumstances were likely to amount to fraud by misrepresentation.
Robinson denies fraud and says he could not pay Kate because she had broken contact.
Channel 4 acknowledges other survivors have received money, including one who publicly said she received $5,000.
7️⃣ Donation companies repeatedly failed to file accounts
Channel 4 identified at least five companies that handled donations connected to Robinson.
Four never filed accounts.
Three went into liquidation owing money to HMRC.
Failing to file required company accounts is itself unlawful.
Sir Max Hill said that, if the pattern was deliberate, HMRC could potentially investigate tax evasion.
Robinson says the companies were legally run by other people, not him.
8️⃣ The £1 million accounting black hole
One of those companies, Hope and Pride Ltd, was run by Robinson’s ex-wife Jenna Lennon.
Authorities found accounting records so inadequate that more than £1 million coming into the company and more than £1 million going out could not properly be accounted for.
Jenna Lennon was banned from acting as a company director for seven years.
She has also pleaded not guilty to charges relating to alleged failures to keep and provide company financial records. That case is ongoing.
This does not prove Robinson stole £1 million. It means there was no adequate accounting trail explaining enormous sums moving through a company connected to his operation.
9️⃣ Possible perjury
This may be Robinson’s biggest legal exposure.
After losing the libel case brought by Syrian schoolboy Jamal Hijazi, Robinson was questioned under oath about his finances.
He said Lennon Consultancy Ltd:
“It is not my company.”
and claimed he did not know what it did.
Channel 4 obtained:
A legal agreement signed “for and on behalf of Lennon Consultancy Limited” by Stephen Lennon.
Emails showing him conducting company business.
Emails showing him managing staff.
Instructions from him telling Jenna Lennon how much employees should be paid.
And evidence that Robinson himself received a £70,000 dividend from the company.
Sir Max Hill KC said this evidence was sufficiently serious to justify a police investigation into potential perjury, an offence carrying up to seven years’ imprisonment.
Robinson denies perjury.
🔟 Questionable separation of his finances
Robinson also told the court that his and Jenna Lennon’s finances were completely separate and that his earnings only went into his own account.
Channel 4 found apparently work-related payments entering Jenna Lennon’s personal account, including:
£45,000 following publication of material filmed by Robinson.
£20,000 connected with his autobiography.
Robinson gave alternative explanations for both payments.
1️⃣1️⃣ Donation crypto went to a gambling platform
Channel 4 commissioned specialist blockchain investigators to trace Robinson-related donation wallets.
They found that in January 2020:
0.92 Bitcoin, worth almost £6,000 at the time, moved directly from a wallet publicly advertised for Robinson donations to an address associated with an online gambling platform.
The investigators stressed they cannot prove Robinson personally initiated the transfer.
But the transaction happened.
It is particularly relevant because Robinson told a court in 2022 that he had spent approximately £100,000 gambling over two years.
He denies ever gambling with supporter money.
1️⃣2️⃣ Former insiders allege donor money funded his lifestyle
Lauren Southern, who worked closely with Robinson, told Channel 4 she personally saw him withdraw thousands from ATMs to buy drugs and described heavy spending on partying, Gucci and expensive cars.
Two other former associates have also publicly alleged supporter money was used on his lifestyle.
Robinson denies this and says any personal spending came from his wages, not donations.
Those allegations are witness testimony, not proven financial tracing.
The important distinction is this:
Some accusations are allegations from former associates.
But the strongest parts of the Dispatches investigation are documentary:
A donation wallet transferred money to a gambling-linked wallet.
Robinson had a UK bank account while repeatedly saying he could not get one.
Money raised for named people did not always reach those people.
Companies handling donations repeatedly failed to file accounts.
More than £1 million moved through one company without adequate accounting records.
And documents appear to contradict sworn evidence Robinson gave about his involvement in a company from which he received a £70,000 dividend.
That is why this is much bigger than “Tommy Robinson is a grifter”.
There are now credible questions involving potential fraud, tax offences and perjury, on top of the proven mortgage fraud conviction and the documented exploitation of people whose suffering helped him raise money.
