#WorldEnvironmentDay might be wrapping up, but the climate challenge isn’t. Neither is the growing movement of people, cities and countries taking action.
This is just a glimpse of the action, ideas and momentum driving climate action around the 🌎.

Pleased to welcome Mark Lee, globally recognized K-pop artist, rapper and singer, to Baku as part of the cultural programme of #WorldEnvironmentDay2026.
World Environment Day brings together people, ideas and cultures from across the world, demonstrating that environmental action is not only about policies and technologies, but also about awareness, creativity and human connection.
We discussed the growing role that artists and cultural figures can play in raising awareness of climate and environmental challenges and inspiring younger generations to engage in sustainability efforts.
We also discussed the potential for future cooperation with him to help strengthen public engagement on climate action and environmental awareness.

Mark, formerly of the group NCT, has officially announced the launch of his creative company, Upper Room.
According to Upper Room on the 4th, Mark established the creative company together with colleagues he has built trust with over time. Centered on music, the company plans to organically connect various content fields such as video, visuals, and performance, expanding Mark’s creative world in a more multidimensional way.
The company name signifies more than just a physical space; it represents a place where like-minded people gather to share thoughts and ideas and discover new possibilities. It reflects the intention to comprehensively support Mark’s music, vision, and various upcoming projects, and to embark on a new journey together.
In particular, Mark, who has built his own unique style as an artist over a long period, is taking on another challenge as a co-CEO and independent creator.
Coinciding with the launch, an announcement film released on the 3rd was inspired by the 15th-century era of metal type printing. It conveys the value of creations completed by human hands and respect for creators, even amid rapidly changing technological environments. All visuals were produced directly without using AI-generated images.
Along with this, visual films titled ‘Written’ and ‘The Wind’ were released, and these will be connected with four more visual films to be released sequentially on the afternoon of the 4th, completing a single narrative.
Each video follows the emotions and growth process of a young man standing at the beginning of a new journey. Capturing moments where anxiety and anticipation, questions and certainty intersect with sensuous visuals, the films may appear to tell different stories but ultimately connect into a single journey. Upper Room is expected to symbolically showcase the new beginnings and possibilities it will unfold in the future.
Attention is focused on what kind of music and stories Mark will return with in the future.
