Wow, I can't believe the thing that most major news organizations said could happen happened.
If you can't trust FreedomIsntFree67 on twitter and numerous local Facebook pages, then who can you trust?
The Rock turns 30 today, and the urban legends about the film are wild.
Connery is an older Bond in The Rock. Fun theory which I like, but the Connery had a cabin built and stayed on Alcatraz story is bull... he slept at the Hyatt Regency.
Chem weapons were “verified” by the military. Nope, the opposite happened.
Nic Cage “banned from action movies” before making The Rock. No, but there was real scepticism, so he chased roles to prove himself.
It was written solely by three people. Not really. It was massively overhauled by Tarantino, Aaron Sorkin, even Dick Clement & Ian La Frenais (the writer's of porridge) were pulled in to punch up Connery’s lines.
“An actor nearly died”. Wrong again. During the SF balcony stunt, horrified locals called the cops thinking an actual murder was happening in the hotel.
What is true is that it’s one of the best action films of the 90s.
And Connery’s last line here (and “An act of looneyshe”) is perfect.
If you talk to Karen Bass’ camp (I have) she would much prefer Spencer Pratt in the runoff. In a blue city with an unpopular incumbent, Nithya Raman is a far bigger threat. Which is why all these kooky theories that Bass is rigging the vote so Nithya will win make zero sense.
I like the idea that the Democrats rigged the L.A. mayor vote to give the city a real competitive and possibly vicious election instead of handing it to Pratt and giving Bass an easier path to victory. Yes, this is exactly what Democrats planned...
I thought the officiating was great until the Thunder got the lead. Now, the officiating is so bad. This is why no one is watching this series. I hear more people watch Paw Patrol reruns than this terrible Thunder team.
