There's one lesson everyone has seemingly missed in considering the legacies of R.C. Sproul and John MacArthur:
How to disagree with brothers in Christ over doctrine and practice, yet still love one another dearly, even joking about differences with grace and humility.
"Justification has reference not to my state, but to my standing. The judge on the bench says, I forgive you. Not only do I forgive you, I give you the righteousness of my son, and I regard you as righteous in him." ―Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones https://t.co/FaXCLysPwU
Beloved, if you have forgotten your Lord—(and perhaps some of you may, during this week, have been forgetting him,—it is no unusual thing)—think of him again, and you shall find a well of water close to you.
Corporate worship is designed to produce rest, peace, hope and courage in us as we hear again the story of God’s rescuing, forgiving, reconciling, empowering, transforming, protecting and delivering grace.
Pastors need Jesus too.
Pastors need pastors too.
Pastors need friends too.
Pastors need grace too.
Pastors need prayers too.
Pastors need rest too.
Pastors need encouragement too.
Pastors need family time too.
Pastors need the gospel too.
Pastors are only humans too.
There is a .03% chance that our kids will become a professional athlete one day, but there is a 100% chance they will stand before God one day.
Helping them with their shooting percentage, yards per carry, & batting averages is good. However, investing in their soul is better!
Contrary to the tone of the world:
You can disagree with someone,
and still not hate them.
You can speak up,
and still not be judgmental.
You can say something is wrong,
and still not have a phobia.
You can stand for truth,
and still be loving.
The world says: Follow your heart.
The Bible says: You need a new heart. Follow Jesus.
The world says: Believe in yourself.
The Bible says: Believe in Someone bigger than yourself. His name is Jesus.
The world says: Love is love.
The Bible says: God is love.
If you’re not actively involved in a local church, then you’re also not “being the church”.
Part of being the church is being in community and accountability with other believers.
