At my last job I said I would need to give a 2 week notice, but I was pretty sure my employer would accept my resignation immediately since I was moving to a competing company. So I told them if they didn’t let me work my 2 weeks I would like to start the next day. I gave my notice on Monday, my old employer sent me home at noon and paid me out for the day. Tuesday I started with my new company.
