Did anyone notice that the 25th Comesa Summit in Harare was hugely boycotted by most Heads of State and Government within the group?
Only 3, out of the 21 Heads of State attended the summit in Harare. 86% of the group's Heads of State boycotted Harare.
Only the incoming chairperson and host, President Mnangagwa, the incoming Vice Chairperson, President Hichilema and the outgoing Chairperson, President Ruto, were the only Presidents present. Anyone who didn't have anything to do with the chairpersonship boycotted the event. It was like a birthday party of a child attended by the birthday child, his father and mother only.
Eighteen of the 21 Comesa member states chose not to be represented by their Heads of State. These are Burundi, Comoros, DRC, Djibouti, Egypt, Eritrea, Eswatini, Ethiopia, Libya, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius,Rwanda, Seychelles,Somalia, Sudan, Tunisia and Uganda.
This is in stack contrast to attendance by African Heads of State at multilateral summits like the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) where attendance by African Heads of State is almost, always 100%.
At least the 24th Comesa Summit in Nairobi was attended by 6 Heads of Government, namely President Ruto of Kenya, Mnangagwa of Zimbabwe, Ndayishimiye of Burundi, Assoumani of Comoros and Prime Ministers, Dhlamini (Eswatini) and Madbouly (Egypt).
It is quite clear that African countries don't take this Comesa thing seriously and ED has assumed chairmanship of just a useless group of people who don't take themselves seriously.
Tsika mutanda Highway to Victoria Falls. 😂🇿🇼
The road has surrendered, the potholes have taken over, and the suspension is fighting for its life.
But the tollgate? Fully operational! 🤣
In Zimbabwe, road maintenance is optional, but tollgate payments are compulsory.
You pay for the privilege of destroying your own car! 😂
When a Hyena wants to eat its children, it first accuses them of smelling like goats. The family bond and moral responsibility have been stripped away. The offspring is now a prey. How many days to go?
Blessed be the land of Zimbabwe.
In our village, when two bulls decide to fight, we don't stop them.
We climb the anthill, watch, & cheer. Our duty is not to separate them, but ensure the fight continues until the dust settles.
How do you treat them in your own village?
Which bull will remain standing?
TAGWIREI’S APPOINTMENT; MY POSITION
Some people expect me to have a view on Kuda Tagwirei’s recent appointment. I do. I want to put it on record, for whatever it may be worth.
Last week, Hon. Willard Madzimbamuto an opposition MP and SDA member who was unlawfully recalled through a process involving Tagwirei, and which eventually led to CA3 warned against celebrating an appointment stained by political skulduggery. Madzimbamuto sees himself as a victim of Tagwirei’s anti people and pro corruption politics. He is. What many may not know is that Hon. Mutasa, also an SDA member, is another victim of these recalls carried out at the same time and to achieve a diabolical purpose.
The record is plain: in 2023, Tagwirei targeted two young opposition parliamentarians from his own church. Their removal was driven by malice, defied the expressed will of the people and served selfish interests. Yet some of the church members said nothing. We heard the silence.
I agree with Madzimbamuto that Tagwirei’s appointment rests on a malevolent campaign against his own ‘brothers’, ‘brothers’ who are now supposed to applaud him for his progress. I understand their anger, and why they find it contradictory, indeed, indefensible that certain fellow believers should celebrate his call to public office founded on nothing but the violence he administered to their interests. What is worse is that this taint is barely being discussed by those people. In fact, discussing it is taboo as it shows envy.
Nor are ZANU PF members themselves at ease with Tagwirei. His own Vice President did not attend his swearing in ceremony. The reasons are public. His own Vice President regards him as a political bottom feeder. I do not disagree with his Vice President but I’m not bold enough to make the point.
In other words, Tagwirei’s brand of politics is rejected on both sides: by his opponents and by people within his own party. He is odious to all save those directly benefiting from his largesse.
He is even odious to his church, whose hand he is trying to force in order that he may have a primary political constituency.
I agree with those disturbed by Tagwireyi’s antics. I too am disturbed.
For what it is worth, let me state plainly the pith of my opposition. One cannot claim the mantle of Christianity while practising politics that people across the divide find detestable and revolting. There’s, at a certain stage, a universally accepted wrong. To my mind, Tagwirei embodies that wrong.
I do not stand in the middle and so do not wish to conceal what some people may view as my bias. I have taken positions on what is happening in this country, and I speak from that perspective although I do so honestly. I disapprove of Tagwirei’s appointment and, more especially, of the process that brought it about. I am not blind to the possibility that this appointment may sound a death knell to his political career. In fact, I know it will. But I will not dwell on that now.
Neither will I dwell on the genius of appointing as Investments Minister someone who is on economic sanctions. In football terms, this is like picking a one legged player as your main striker
I also reject the claims of religious people, including some in my own church, who treat Tagwirei’s appointment as proof of divine favour. I regard such people as scoundrels and I call them out for what they are. The body of Christ does not celebrate political debauchery.
If indeed it is correct that they are constitutional proposals to delink the ZANU President from the National Presidency then surely ZANU must accept that as a liberation movement it is finished and gone .
Bar the 2017 coup the ZANU PF leadership has always been a substantive position occupied by individuals leading and executing the liberation struggle from the front .
Its founding President , the unparalleled Ndabaningi Sithole was a principled cadre who led from the front until years later the Mgagao Declaration of 1975 all but stripped him of leadership .
Chairman Chitepo , was the de facto leader of ZANU from 1968 until his ethnic elimination in March 1975.
He was a brilliant executioner of the struggle reposed with clarity alacrity and purity .
Mugabe for all his aloofness and detachment had some organic connection with the liberation movement that would be evident in the 1980 General Election.
But that ZANU PF is gone .
The battle of the soul of ZANU PF was lost in November 2017 .
ZANU surrendered itself to opportunists and murderers who had presided over some of the darkest periods of our history , none more gruesome than Gukurahundi .
A brigand of ravenous gangsters and hyenas had taken over .
We saw them at their recent dinner where US$ 10 m dollars was raised in hours.
The ZANU of ideology and discipline has been taken over by limousine riding , champagne guzzling fraudsters with Gucci bags and Rolex watches .
The party of Chitepo Tekere Nkomo and Sithole has been taken over by Scott , Tungwarara and Nguwaya
It has been taken by criminal in chief Kuda Tagwireyi.
Cab 3 was about these gangsters .
Removing the right of Zimbabweans to vote for their President and surrendering that to Parliament was a move created for Kuda Tagwireyi and his phalanx of Zvigananda.
Making sure that the National President does not have to be voted by the ZANU base is part of the Zvigananda agenda .
Truth is Kuda Tagwireyi and his gang of syndicates have become the most dangerous individuals in Zimbabwe .
They pose an existential threat to the Republic .
Truth is they must be stopped .
They have a lot to answer to Zimbabwe.
The 2013 Constitution must be restored .
Constitutionalism and the rule of law must be protected
The judiciary must be independent and secure .
The Republic must be safeguarded .

🔸Good day @nickmangwana,
1. When is Mr Tagwirei going to step down from the role of Chair of the Land Tenure Implementation Committee? Section 106(a) does not permit a Cabinet Minister to hold any other public office.
2. Has Govt explained to him that under s106(a) of the Constitution, he is no longer allowed to undertake any other paid work, even in the private sector? What’s being done to ensure that there is full compliance with the Constitution in this regard?
3. Have any steps been taken to ensure that there is no conflict of interest or chance of any improper benefit with regard to his business interests and his new economic development and investment portfolio? Is Govt certain there will be no breach of the conflict of interest rule enshrined in s106(b) and (c)?
We need new leaders.🇿🇼
A hyena raids the village chicken coop and steals twenty chickens.
On Sunday, the same hyena turns up at church carrying two.
“Pastor, I felt led to support the Lord’s work.”
The pastor smiles.
The elder says, “Amen!”
The treasurer issues a receipt.
Someone calls the hyena a “generous community partner.”
Meanwhile, somewhere in the village, a farmer is still looking for eighteen chickens.
Now, to be fair, those two chickens can do some genuine good. They may feed hungry families. They may support a worthy cause.
But praying over them does not change where they came from.
The offering plate has been turned into a washing machine. But again the question is not whether the church can do good with the hyena’s two chickens.
The question for the church is whether, after enjoying the chicken stew, can it still ask about the the farmer who lost his chickens.
Because the day the hyena discovers that two donated chickens can silence questions about eighteen stolen ones, it has learned a very profitable lesson:
You don’t have to stop raiding the village. You just have to share enough of the loot with those who might speak against you.
So, the donation is not about what the chicken stew can do for the church.
But what chickens stew can do to the church.
Selah 😎

Happy Sabbath.
The appointment of Kuda Tagwireyi after deliberately flouting of Zanu PF elevation protocols and catapulting into the Central Committee shows a deliberate arrogant attitude by the government akin to displaying a middle finger.
This is a man who bought state mines and parastatals using state funds extracted from inflated tender processes which he got awarded without due process.
The man built Trabablas Interchange at USD120 million instead of original USD60 million after elbowling out his partners Tensor and Masimba Construction mafia style!
This is the man who inflated Dema Diesel Plant for electricity generation from USD60 million to USD280 million and did not deliver electricity to the nation.
This is the man who “purchased” government owned mines during indigenisation drive and bundled them into Kuvimba Mining before selling them back to the government at USD1,6billion a move which drove up national debt by USD3 billion in 2019.
This is the man who was awarded Command Agriculture USD1,3 billion tender and delivered zero inputs but instead used the money to pay of the military for their mines, Dema Diesel Plant Contractors and dumped the rest of Treasury Bills on the open market with favourable rates from RBZ. A move which wiped half the value of the Bond Currency!
@wicknellchivayo is a kids play when it comes to money laundering and stealing compared to this guy!!
This one arguably the biggest thief in Africa.

DONATIONS AND TAX LAW
A remuneratory donation (a gift in recognition of service) is not a capital receipt and like a bonus must be treated as income. For that reason, it is taxable.
The implications of this is that the entire “Go See Victor” crew that received donations not on account of mere liberality but in recognition of the work they had done or services rendered (even to the public) must pay tax.
But it does not end there.
A payment described as a gift can nevertheless constitute income where it is, in substance, remuneration for services rendered. This particularly holds for those substantial ‘gifts’ that do not form part of fees rendered. The gift will be treated as a receipt arising from income-producing activities and is taxable.
Finally, tax does not have to be on actual receipt of the gift but can also be on accrual. The net effect is that if you have been promised a taxable donation, you can still be required to pay tax even before the donation has been received.
Last month @edmnangagwa donated $2 million dollars 💸 💵 to Makandiwas family, this week he's asking the donors to help the affected people in Masvingo.
