Ahead of the sixth anniversary of the Promise, Minister @NatalieDon_ met pupils with care experience @DuncanrigScndry to hear about their Champions Board.
It supports them to shape policy, ensure services meet their needs and enhance peoples’ understanding of the issues they face

We then finished the day with a movie and some art and crafts with pupils making "Champion Belts" to decorate and pass out to the teachers of @DuncanrigScndry who they considered to be their Care Champions. Many many thanks to the people who made this day a massive success!
Care Experienced Ambassador Michael Moynihan was up next leading the pupils on work on "How Duncanrig Secondary can continue to improve the experience of our care experience young people" gather the pupils voice and also bravely sharing his own care journey.
Vast amounts of pizza and cake were had in the wonderfully decorated library paying homage to the colours of @whocaresscot represented on the day by @RayMaclean. We were also visited by Sonia Holmes, Team Lead for Children and Justice Services @SouthLanCouncil.
The schools @KingsTrust group were happy to donate some of the Xmas Fayre proceeds to The Glasgow School of Wrestlings gofundme (https://t.co/jICLa4qv67) and the amazing work @Ravie_Davie_McC is doing to work with some of the most vulnerable of Scotlands young people.
This was the followed by one of the most exciting events ever hosted as Care Experienced wrestler @Ravie_Davie_McC and @Communityprowr1 came to town to put on a show for our Care pupils. Pupils were off their seats and loved every moment ...Many thanks for volunteering your time.
Duncanrig today celebrated our 5th annual CareDay to mark the release of @ThePromiseScot and remind ourselves of the importance why we must #keepThePromise. The day started with Care Experience Champion Carmyle summarising the main points of The Promise

Finally Ally Berry from @EastUniversal came to impart his wisdom and sense of humour . Covering mental health, resilience and delivering a session in mindfulness everyone left with massive smiles and feeling much more relaxed. Thank you to everyone in making this a special day!
Next up was one of our Care Experienced ambassadors who talked to the pupils about how the UNCRC impacts them but more so about their inspirational journey and the role Corporate Parents had and how we still need to do better.
First up we had our friends @cisweb who led the pupils on a discussion on Improving Pupil Support in Schools for Care Experience Young People. Lots of fantastic points made by our young people to help shape training material for pastrol support teachers.
Today @DuncanrigScndry we recommited to #KeepThePromise by hosting out 4th annual CareDay celebrations in the school. All of our Care Experienced young people were invited to share their experiences and celebrate their community.
