@BBCBreakfast In past years I have seen schools locally predict grades based on family circumstances and where students live, rather than ability. One of my helpers in a club I run was predicted 1 GCSE grade C and all the rest D and below - her results 4 A* grades, 4 A grades and 3 B grades.
