OPPORTUNITY cost >> when you keep holding onto a loser, you lose opportunity to make it back in a better stock. so eat your loss quick and move on!
Key is to PRE PLAN >> know ahead of time where to exit for both a winner and a loser!
PRE-DEFINE your risk! know how much you are willing to lose and set your stop! if you know ahead of time how much you will lose, you are no longer "scared". If you are still scared, means you're over sized!
Small size can often means bigger profits b/c you don't get stopped out quickly and can let the stock work for you. Small size , wider stops/range has been working great for me!

There is no such thing as a perfect trading system. Best we can do is follow best practices guidelines and trade the higher probability setups. remember even A++ setups you can still lose. but as long as you maintain A+ RISK MANAGEMENT, you will SUCCEED!

DRAW YOUR LINES. the answer is in the chart. if you can't find the answer, avoid the trade
answers are all best calculated guesses still. they are not 100% . so you need stops and a plan to exit for a loss when your guess/thesis is no longer valid
the quicker you can see the plan is not working, the less money you lose by stopping out. you do not have to get stopped out! you can exit the trade early!
don't be a stubborn fuck and only exit when max loss hits. max loss is NOT A STOP

A lot of traders are unsuccessful due to fear. fear comes from lack of confidence and being afraid of the unknown. how to combat that:
1. pre define your risk. if you know ahead of time how much you can potential lose, why be afraid? if that number is too much, LOWER IT! place a stop! Max loss!
2. you need to practice practice practice to get experience to form confidence. practice by trading 1 share is ok too. learn by DOING. how much can you lose with 1 share? but you can practice live with real money instead of just paper trading. this helps HUGE because it is real trading

the hardest trade is not trading: being able to be OK with missing the trade, to be ok with getting out early, to be ok with leaving $$ on the table, to be able to have the patience to wait for the stock to come to your spots and if not, to be ok to walk away!
Discipline is key!
Even way back in 2015 I've been saying the same thing!
1 winning trade a day. You have all morning to WAIT for that trade to make your pay so have the patience to WAIT for that setup!!
Many are complaining about how difficult these markets are. That’s because they lack stock selection and will bang any stock that moves! That’s how they lose days, weeks of gains!
I may even argue that stock selection is apart of risk management that so many overlook! Stop trying to fight Mike Tyson in his prime! No wonder you keep getting knocked out!
Risk management + Proper stock selection = Long Term Success

Just because it is slow doesn't mean you should deviate and go out looking for random stocks to trade
Just like if there are no girls at bar doesn't mean I will go look for guys to hit on! 🤣

you may not be able to control where the stock goes, but you can control how much you lose!
predefine your risk ahead of time and know where to get out!

We either win or we LEARN! Losses are apart of anything you do in life. Don’t make excuses; own your mistakes and learn from them. That’s how we grow!!
Those who never failed, also never tried anything in life.
Remember that bones break and grow back stronger! 💪
The hardest part about trading is.... NOT TRADING!
Being able to sit there and NOT make a trade until a great setup comes. Being able to sit there and NOT get bored and go out seeking a trade!
LONG THREAD On How It Finally “Clicked” For Me Trading:
I lost a lot of $$ when I started trading. That’s b/c when I started I thought the stock market was random. I thought it was pure gambling. I went for home runs. I hit many HRs, but always stuck out in the end, losing all
some days when you're trading well, the basket hoop looks like 10 feet wide and you cant miss...
Be careful about being too arrogant. It can all change and you can lose everything in 1 click because you think you can't miss... but end up missing badly and all your hard work is instantly erased!
Never forgot the discipline and risk management that got you there!
FOCUS LEARN RISK MANAGEMENT FIRST!
this is why when you do martial arts the first teach you how to fall w/o getting hurt, how to avoid a punch/kick.
DEFENSE wins championships in sports for a reason!

NEVER be afraid or embarrassed to take a small manageable loss! What you should be afraid and embarrassed of is the REGRET of NOT taking that loss and then taking a huge loss later!

Wanted to share this thought about A+ setups and the way I am starting to look at plays. I am striving for an A+ process more than looking for these A+ plays which usually u only know was an A+ after the fact. Risk management is essential and not many ppl talk about it enough
