7th season is officially underway!

@Hey_Gundy@IowaSportsTurf@allianzfield It doesnโt affect them in any harmful way. Really the main reason we conduct this operation is so that we can remove material to help bring the fiber/cleat interaction back into play.
Thanks to @IowaSportsTurf for coming out today and helping us in our midseason field renovation! Took out 30 yards worth of organic material followed behind by seed and topdressing. Nutrients and wetting agent due up next, followed by water and sunshine to help the recovery!
@Hey_Gundy@IowaSportsTurf@allianzfield Technically no. Itโs considered a fraise mower. Similar to what a dethatcher will accomplish, just more aggressive in penetrating the soil surface to remove more than just dead plant material. Harsh winter burn, leading into a slow spring start-up here has made for a tough start. But slowly starting to get things back to where they need to be. One more game before the @FIFAWorldCup break, followed by a few weeks of cultural practices and TLC to bounce back.
10โ of snow with wind, followed my multiple nights of sub zero temps. Field heat did its job melting. Grass didnโt like the cold temps without cover. Leaf tips are showing it. Easily can tell where the pockets of snow cover were during those nights.

Finally starting to get some cooperation from Mother Nature after another very early spring of usages and attempted recovery. Taking advantage of the break now to get a deep aeration in, and of course, that comes with the obligatory slow-mo proof.
