@RyanHockeyGuy I really wonder how fans in other divisions would feel if two teams if two expansion teams were added in such a short period of time, with such a huge leg-up in terms of their rosters? They'd be pissed too, and want the NHL's cap rules to apply to everyone the same way.

@RyanHockeyGuy I think fans in the Pacific Division have every right to be bitter. We had two expansion teams added to our division in five years, both of whom got to benefit from a type of draft that no other previous expansion teams had ever had benefit of using in the NHL's history.

@RyanHockeyGuy But I think it's no coincidence that since 2016, Vancouver, SJ, LA and Anaheim have all been struggling and haven't been able to recover in the standings, and while it cannot be blamed 100% on the expansion teams, it's very much a factor.

@RyanHockeyGuy Fortunately I think owners learned their lesson after the Vegas expansion draft when it came time for the Seattle draft (when Eastern Conference owners realized that there could be an actual threat during the playoffs), because their thinking was short-sighted.

@RyanHockeyGuy Ownership in other divisions exposed players with the caliber and experience that expansion teams don't normally get, and as a result it has been a huge disadvantage for teams that are dealing with rebuilds, aging rosters and working under the salary cap limits.
