I maintain that signing a striker and a CB were and are priorities, but all the signings we’ve made thus far make *a lot* of sense.

Why Adeyemi and Gordon? Because we lacked the attacking depth to maintain the integrity of this system.

Flick-ball is fundamentally the most high octane attacking system in the world. It’s simply unsustainable without as much attacking firepower as possible.

Last season, every time Raphinha was out, our levels dropped massively. Especially out of possession. That will not happen anymore.

Rodri: what can I even say? I cannot think of a more significant upgrade. I’ve heard folks question whether we truly needed him. All I’ll ask is, were they around when Eric Garcia started multiple crucial games in midfield last season?

But more critically, if he wasn’t joining us, he was joining Madrid. And not letting that happen is unquestionably a massive part of the appeal. Anyone suggesting otherwise is detached from reality.

Cancelo, of course, a no brainer. Same for Hamza and Bisiwu.

We need more, and we will get more, but based on the business we’ve already conducted, there isn’t a single deal I don’t like.

Gordon (LW) - Lamine (False Nine) - Raphinha (RW). Then complement this with Xavi Espart’s ball distribution from the deep (he can find Raphinha’s off the ball movements).

Not sure it would 100% work, but it would be cool to try!
