No idea how often they’re doing this, but it’s great to see and I really, REALLY hope it continues once the lovely visitors/tourists depart this Summer - this is something that can and should be done routinely for everyone that uses SEPTA

People today will never know what it was like to walk into a theater at midnight and find hundreds of people dressed as the characters from The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

They weren't just watching the movie. They were acting out every scene, singing every song, shouting every line, and turning the entire theater into one unforgettable live performance.

Some of the best memories of the '70s, '80s, and '90s weren't made at home... they were made with complete strangers celebrating a movie they all loved.

It is one of those experiences you simply had to be there to understand.

🚨#BREAKING: A police officer in Phoenix has rented out an ENTIRE 144-SEAT MOVIE THEATER for over 100 middle schoolers after their end-of-year field trip fell through, so they could see Toy Story 5.

When they got there, he realized many couldn't afford popcorn or drinks...

..so he bought EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM popcorn, candy, and a drink too.

His name is Sean Reavies,

For many kids, it was their first time ever inside of a movie theater in their lives.

When the kids asked how they could pay him back, he told them:

"As you get older in life, help other people. As a payback to me. Would you do that? That's all I ask of you."

While Pride is a time for celebration, it is also an opportunity for reflection. Today’s video scrapbook of photos wraps up our month-long tribute to the boys that came before us – those that lived in the shadow of a disapproving and hostile society when the danger of being exposed as gay forced them to live double lives in absolute secrecy. Let us never forget:

Until the late 20th century, the medical establishment universally considered being gay a mental illness.

Police forces routinely targeted gay bars, undercover officers frequently engaged in entrapment, and newspapers often published the names, addresses, and the place of employment for those arrested.

Homosexual acts were routinely prosecuted under "sodomy" or "gross indecency" laws and often resulted in being registered as a sex offender.

The U.S. government and military viewed homosexuality as a national security threat.

Many countries, including the USA, legally barred homosexual immigrants from entering their country.

Gay victims of domestic violence, assault, or theft had zero recourse to the legal system, as contacting the police meant admitting to an illegal lifestyle.

Before modern non-discrimination laws, it was entirely legal for private employers to fire someone simply for being gay and for landlords to evict suspected gay tenants.

And gay parents routinely lost custody of their children in divorce proceedings, as the courts viewed homosexuality as immoral and unfit for child-rearing.
