Eels injury woes continue even after Mitch Moses suffered a hamstring injury in NSW Blues camp.
Junior Paulo underwent arthroscopic (keyhole) surgery for an ongoing knee issue he has played through the last 3 weeks. This type of surgery is often used to trim damaged cartilage/meniscus, remove scar tissue or loose bone fragments & other debris from the joint. Eels expect him to miss 8 weeks.
Jonah Pezet will go for scans after suffering a hamstring injury at training - he was not long back after missing multiple weeks with a previous hamstring strain.
Some updates on expected returns too, with Will Penisini due back approx Round 21 as he battles osteitis pubis, and Bailey Simonsson expected back this season in Round 23 after he suffered a brutal ankle fracture.
NSW confirm Mitch Moses has been ruled out of Origin 1 after suffering a hamstring injury at training.
Thankfully only a minor strain but still much too risky to play 48 hours post injury. Usual return to play range for Grade 1 hamstring strains is 2-4 weeks.
Ethan Strange will now start for the Blues, Matt Burton onto the bench.
