Our job as educators is to work with students starting from where they are. Some aren't as high on the ladder of success just yet, and thus need a little extra help.

Q6. Someone says, “We give too many crutches to students when they are learning, they’ll never have those in the real world." What would be your quick “elevator” response? #UNOTED8560
Q5. If a colleague was concerned about a new student they had with a certain need, and they weren’t sure how to meet this need, where would you suggest they start? #UNOTED8560
When possible, I allow students to be assessed via oral presentation, electronic book, or video instead of always a written report.
Giving choices tends to help with engagement, as well.

I get students talking as much as possible. I learned "The one that's doing the talking is the one that's doing the learning"
Using technology to keep students engaged is a strength on mine.

I love to reach out to my classmates that are teaching in a variety of places and levels.
The #SocialEmotionalLearning community has been a great help in developing a positive classroom climate.

I identify the strengths and challenges of my students by speaking with past teachers and noting previous assessments.
I can find out their interests by interacting with them outside of the classroom setting.

Your digital footprint follows you everywhere you go, so schools are certainly responsible for teaching kids how to browse and post of the Internet safely.

Absolutely! You can't stick with the same learning style every day. During math, for instance, we might rotate through stations with different activities.

The tool I use the most is @PearDeck. I requires each student to have a device, but has many cool features to enhance traditional power point presentations.

Yes! Games can be a fun way to assess and get out of the routine of constantly lecturing.
I primarily use

Since I follow pages such as @SpaceX & @NASA, I have the opportunity to see the latest discoveries in our solar system and beyond.
Teaching science is one of my favorites, so I love sharing these discoveries with students.
