After the Satya Niketan incident, nearby PGs have been vacated and messes have been closed.
NSUI workers have reached there with food for students and are also arranging places for them to stay.

Today, I along with members of the Bhandaripokhari Block Congress Committee met with the BDO, Bhandaripokhari to submit a memorandum addressed to the District Magistrate/Collector following the recent floods.

2. Free seeds, fertilizers, and farm loan waivers.
3. Registration of farmers for paddy sales with extended deadline till Sept 30, 2026.

In Modi’s New India, justice is selective! A young student stepped out to demand something every aspirant deserves, a fair and transparent examination system. Instead, Sahil Lochab returned from a peaceful protest with a pellet injury to his eye, putting his vision at risk.
The incident at Jantar Mantar on July 20 cannot simply be dismissed as another protest-related episode. When excessive force is used against citizens, there must be an independent investigation and a clear chain of accountability.
That is why LoP @RahulGandhi ji stood beside Sahil today and sought the registration of an FIR. The issue goes far beyond one student. It is about whether an ordinary citizen can expect the law to listen when the allegation is against those entrusted with enforcing it.
Paid floral tribute to former Prime Minister Shri #RajivGandhi ji at Veer Bhumi, New Delhi, on his birth anniversary. India will forever remain indebted to his service and his vision for a developed and progressive nation.

#WATCH | Delhi: Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge says, "Nehru ji laid the foundation of a modern, democratic and secular India. He established IITs, IIMs, PSUs. Nehru ji did a lot for the country, but he did not possess arrogance. Shastri ji strengthened the foundations of white and green revolution in the country. Indira ji strengthened India's military and strategic capabilities, and also played a major role in creation of Bangladesh. We also integrated Sikkim with India. All these were done by Congress party leaders, but someone speaking from Red Fort claims that they have done everything. It’s a mercy they don’t claim that whatever remains of the world has survived because of them."

Large parts of the Bhandaripokhari Assembly Constituency remain devastated by severe flooding, leaving normal life completely disrupted.
Today, along with local leaders, I visited the affected villages and met families who have lost so much. Witnessing washed-away roads, waterlogged villages, and damaged homes was truly painful.
As a small gesture of solidarity, we distributed dry ration and essential relief materials to the affected families. In times like these, compassion and collective action are our greatest strength.
I sincerely urge the Government of Odisha to expedite rescue, relief, and rehabilitation efforts, ensure the uninterrupted supply of dry rations, safe drinking water, and other essential necessities, and provide immediate assistance to every affected family.
Visited breached embankment of the Baitarani River near Banasta in Bhandaripokhari Block, along with social worker Shri Golak Chandra Behera and Bhandaripokhari Block Congress President Shri Ajaya Sahu.
The damage caused by the floods is deeply concerning. I interacted with the affected residents and listened to their grievances. The immediate priority must be to strengthen the embankment, prevent further erosion, and ensure timely relief and rehabilitation for every affected family.
In this difficult time, we stand firmly with the people. I urge the government to act swiftly and ensure that no affected family is left without support.
the admission date until the flood situation improves. This will ensure that all eligible students get a fair opportunity to complete their admissions without facing unnecessary hardship.
We hope you will consider this request sympathetically and take appropriate action.
