On Juneteenth, we commemorate the anniversary of the delayed but welcome news of freedom reaching the enslaved Black folks in Galveston, Texas. It’s a reminder that even in the darkest hours, there is cause to hope — and a reason to keep building a country that lives up to its highest ideals.

Having said that, our laws and institutions have been deeply influenced by Christian teachings and traditions. But, this does not mean we are making laws in accordance to these values
@JeremyBundy@ABDanielleSmith Separation of church and state is the idea that government should remain neutral toward all religions and not officially recognize or favor any one religion. Thus, we should not have to live under or make legislation in relation to any religion.
@JeremyBundy@ABDanielleSmith The separation of church and state! The foundations of classical liberalism (modern day conservatism) has always advocated for this separation and for people not to controlled by any religion. People are FREE to make their own choices.
Judging people by their current abilities masks their future potential.
