@CoriTeachesLove Lots of index cards. We use them for vocabulary and they go through a ton. Poster board or railroad board for projects. Mints? My students love that I have a canister of mints!

@CoachTatur84 I agree with this! I like a good strong #2 pencil! ✏️ But I always provide both in the cup on my counter for my students to use!

@TolentinoTeach I agree. I ask my HS students to reflect back on their early experiences with reading and then think about when it stopped. Many share that they loved reading in early elementary and then it died in MS! Why is that?

@DrBradJohnson Agreed. Which means library programs are more important than ever. Yet we built a new building with no library and no librarian! We do luckily have a branch within walking distance!

@educator4ever36 I agree!! There are times when lights should be dimmed - to show a video for example! But most of the time the lights are needed! We need more time with books in hands, pencils in hands, and paper on the desks, all of which require overhead lights!

The American education system is fixated on finding the latest method or system to get students reading and writing.

Unfortunately, no hack exists. Reading is sometimes dull. Writing is often hard.

You can’t entertain yourself to an education.

Coach King was selected as Bengals HS Coach of the wk. He was recognized at the Bengals/Steelers game. He went with his wife and got to go on the sideline before the game! Thank you to the Bengals and Paycor who will EACH donate $1,000 to the VV Football Program as well!

The Colorado-TCU game is an example of why college football is so great!! A game that is entertaining and a showcase of talent that I just turned on and got absorbed in!! Not necessarily invested in either team, but love Coach Prime’s story!!
