@audrarowell94 Ch7Q2- #sscbookstudy I think I will definitely use the mini rubric strip. It allows student to assess themselves, gets them really thinking about how they did and provides them with a goal to work towards.
@audrarowell94 Ch7Q1-#sscbookstudy Effective feedback helps students to know if they are headed in the right direction. It can give them pointers, ideas and can prompt them to take their thinking to a whole new level.
@audrarowell94 #sscbookstudy Ch6Q2- yes we should. All students deserve that opportunity, and we should make sure that we are providing all the tools to all students to do just that.
@audrarowell94 #sscbookstudy Ch6Q3- yes of course! This allows students to not only learn, but apply the learning to their life. It gives them a unique opportunity to take their learning outside of the walls of a classroom.
@audrarowell94 Ch5Q3 #sscbookstudy yes- this is not an easy concept. Students will need to be led through this type of thinking, and it will need to be differentiated. Some students will have an easier time thinking this way, while others will need some more opportunities to practice.
@audrarowell94 Ch5Q2 #sscbookstudy yes of course! Kids are more interested and take more value in their learning if they have the chance to think in a more innovative way.
@audrarowell94 Ch4Q3-#sscbookstudy I’ve found that students really love acting out our favorite storybooks. I challenge them to come up with new characters to add to the story. They are five, but the imagination they display is so cool to see. Thoughtful questioning is also helpful.
@audrarowell94 Ch4Q2- #sscbookstudy Students need to understand that imagination doesn’t just stop when they reach a certain age. If we stopped imagining then we wouldn’t have great films, books, technology advances etc. Imagination is so so important!
@audrarowell94 #sscbookstudy Ch3Q3- the time spent on revamping lessons is worth it. Lessons need to be relevant, rigorous and engaging. And prep work on the front end gives students the opportunity to take their learning even further than just simply hitting the surface of a lesson.
@audrarowell94 #sscbookstudy Ch3Q1- yes! Struggling or ELL students can benefit from creative thinking lessons. It can tap into a part of their brain that they haven’t been using, or help them to think about a concept in a new way that they do understand!
