Our fantastic Year 6 children received their leavers hoodies today after a week of hard work and determination. We are so proud of you all π @simonsideschool @MrsAllsopp1@MrsPegman@Mrs_Souter@realmrslttle
Just a few examples of our double page spreads from our art lesson. We were researching Antony Gormley and discussing our feelings about his sculptures. @simonsideschool
Our wonderful drama club wowed everyone with their outstanding performance of Cinderella last week. We are so very proud of each and every one of you! @simonsideschool Thanks so much Kelly Ogden for being the best drama teacher there is!
Here are just a few of my favourite digital art pieces created by year 4. I definitely think we have some future graphic designers amongst us! @simonsideschool @MrsPegman
This morning in English, we adapted a @TeachActive style lesson to help with our tenses. Then, we sorted quotes from Matilda. We had to choose which character we thought they were about and how the author created feelings of dislike or sympathy. @simonsideschool
This afternoon, we investigated how the human digestive system works. It was disgusting but fun and the children were able to explain how the different parts of the body help to digest food. @simonsideschool
@nowpressplay Well, it was a bit of a mixed bag but Sparta seemed to come out on top due to the way they treated women more fairly. There were a lot of children who chose neither!
For history, we are learning about Ancient Greece. For our Athens vs Sparta lesson we used @nowpressplay to learn about the different city states. @simonsideschool
The children then had to decide which they would choose to live in and why.
On Friday the children had a brilliant morning designing their own theatre with @Ryder1953. They worked amazingly in their groups and thought of some ingenious ideas. There may be some future architects in year 4! @MrsPegman @simonsideschool
Beautiful art work completed by year 4! This perfectly illustrates the process of art that we teach at Simonside. The children research, experiment and create. This ensures that their pieces are both individual and draws on influences from artists. @simonsideschool
Our choir continued the merriment by singing loud for all to hear at our local @Tesco! They were absolute SUPERSTARS and we are so incredibly proud of them!ππΆβοΈπ @Mrs_Souter @simonsideschool

In history, we created double page information texts to answer the question: What buildings did the Romans build and for what purposes? @simonsideschool @MrsPegman
Before half term, Year 4 studied Gaudi and his artwork with @MrsPegman. They used this as inspiration to design their own nature inspired clay pot. Last week they were able to bring their designs to life and have really out-done themselves. We are so proud Year 4! @simonsideschool
